Rumour Mill-Randolph In, Not Keeping Beast ?

Burnley are thought to be in the market for a new keeper. Lee Grant looks set to become a Derby player soon if rumours are true, and he along with Brian Jensen are both out-of-contract in the summer along with third-string choice, Jon Stewart. The Beast today has tweeted that he will be looking for a new club despite no current official announcement yet. The tweet read:

"Emotional day today. Not been offered a contract so time for a new challenge." Once confirmed we will bring you more news.

The latest rumour on the goalkeeping front according to the local press is that Burnley are keeping tabs on Motherwell keeper, Darren Randolph. The 25 year old former Charlton Athletic goalkeeper has impressed this season for the SPL club and has just been named in the PFA Scottish Premier League Team of the Year. The keeper also had a loan spell just down the road at Accrington Stanley playing a part in their 2005/06 Conference promotion season after joining them for the start of that campaign. Whilst at Charlton, he also had loan spells at Welling United, Gillingham, Bury and Hereford United. Randolph signed for Motherwell at the beginning of July 2010 on a free transfer having agreed a three-year-contract. The Republic of Ireland international stopper is also thought to be on Birmingham City's radar so we could face competition to sign him.

I have this feeling that both Grant & Stewart will be off and we wlll get this chap in (or someone else) with Jensen retained as back-up keeper

I would have agreed with that TMP, but Beast has put on twitter that he has left having not been offered a new deal.

Has he? Ah right missed that then! Probably explains why he came on last Saturday..a last hurrah!!

Just a bit more news i was told by someone who works at the Club is that Trippier was saying his goodbyes to everyone at the Club friday. Treacy is no longer at the Club after agreeing to go to Sheff Wed.

I would expect a team pushing for promotion or even a lower end Prem team will come in for Trip. As for Treacy - I expect he will be on a good wage - Sean hasnt managed to get him playing well in 6 months so far ( not a criticism of him) and therefore I would look to move him on in the summer also.

Now on Official Site-'Burnley Football Club can confirm that goalkeeper Brian Jensen will leave Turf Moor this summer. The Clarets` longest-serving player, who joined the club from West Bromwich Albion in June 2003, has not been offered a contract at the end of his testimonial year. Jensen, affectionately known as the 'Beast`, made over 300 appearances for Burnley Football Club and starred in the Premier League season of 2008/09. He made an emotional final appearance for the club in the last minute of the final game of the season v Ipswich Town last weekend, replacing ever-present Lee Grant and receiving a rapturous ovation from the Turf Moor crowd...' All very sad but most probably the right decision! With Grant rumoured to be off to Derby unless Jon Stewart steps up to the mark (also out of contract this summer and looks unlikely) we now need to find at least two replacements [Edited by turfmanphil] [Edited by turfmanphil]

Many thanks to Brian "The Beast" for his contribution and etertainment. Best wishes for the future, sadly all good things come to an end,

I'm all for a clear out of some of the junk we've accumulated, and maybe it's time for Dyche to set about it. This can either go well or be a disaster. Only time will tell whether Dyche has it in him to move the club forwards. Sad to see Beast go. Sad day for the club or exciting - maybe...

Would like to express my thanks to The Beast. Good luck wherever you end up. A little bit worried about the Trippier rumour. Why would we want to let go of the best right back in the Championship? Give Jon Stewart a chance to prove himself

We need a good keeper when you think next season we are up against, Bolton, Forest, Charlton, Derby, Brum, Leeds, Blackpool, Boro, Rovers, Sheff Wed and 3 from Leicester, Palace, Watfordand BHA. Plus QPR, Reading and Newcastle! Next season will be a relegation fight and cash spent on keeping Grant will be a good investment.

Grant is off to Derby according to a number of reports today (Tue 7th May). If we lose Austin and Trippier as well. We are basically rebuilding again and I am very, very concerned considering this club never spends owt!

Bad News all round.
Grimsby Claret
Yes he has gone and I put above we will be in a relegation fight and need a good keeper... I believe we now need lady luck as we need a first and second choice keeper.....Bad Bad News

Typical of this club to balls things up! They have NO ambition whatever and never will have until we get directors that have each grown a pair!! They must love the FIFA Fair Play ruling, it gives them the perfect excuse to spend bugger all and then use the sale of our best players to fund their debt black hole caused by falling revenue and fans apathy! All very predictable I am afraid since their failure to try and keep us up in the top flight when they had the chance. Sliding ever since and next season looks like its going to be even tougher

Birmingham City make Motherwell keeper Darren Randolph their second summer signing on a two-year contract.
