Gifton taken off Transfer List

Burnley manager Steve Cotterill has taken striker Gifton Noel-Williams off the transfer list.

We understand Steve Cotterill has been impressed with Noel-Williams attitude and effort and of course he has played well in the last few games, most notably scoring the hat-trick against Barnsley recently

The Clarets boss said: 'Since Gifton has come back, he has worked harder than he did last year. That has been a vital ingredient and probably why his performances have been better than last year. I also didn't want to have one player on the transfer list because it's like he will be alienated.

'We are more than happy that he is staying and we are more than happy with his performances.'

This is good to hear, especially for Gifton. He has proven his worth in the games recently played, most significantly by scoring his hat-trick against Barnsley. Being taken off the transfer list will boost his confidence and hopefully increase his form on the pitch. It will also give healthy competition for the other strikers to get into the starting line up!
