'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Clarets International-Richards, Lafferty, Vokes!

Three Burnley players have been called up by their countries for international duty.

New boy, Dane Richards has been named in the 23-man squad for Jamaica`s opening game in the final round of the North, Central America and Caribbean World Cup qualifying section for Brazil 2014. The Reggae Boyz play Mexico on Wednesday night. The 29-year-old winger only finalised a move to Turf Moor in January signing from Vancouver Whitecaps at the start of the month after being granted international clearance.

Meanwhile, Danny Lafferty has flown out with Northern Ireland for a friendly in Malta on Wednesday night. Sam Vokes too could get another cap for Wales. His country play Austria at home also on Wednesday night.

Just in case you missed it..Wales will head into the World Cup qualifying double header in March with renewed belief after a 2-1 friendly win over Austria. Who scored one of the goals? Well after surviving a few nervy moments in the latter part of the first half, Wales doubled their advantage after the break when Bale's cross was powerfully headed home by substitute... Sam Vokes!! Get in lad!!

Congratulations to Sam on his goal, hopefully that will give him the confidence to play at his best for us. He's obviously a great player, and a great option for us to have up front. Another well done to Danny Lafferty for a good clean sheet, and a good goal (if it hadn't been disallowed).
