Rumour Mill-Tunnicliffe All A Loan?

Manchester United midfielder, Ryan Tunnicliffe appears to be attracting interest from a number of Championship clubs including the Clarets. The 20 year old has been linked with a loan move to Burnley, Leicester City, Hull City and Wolves. Premier League club, Reading are also believed to be considering a move.

Last term Tunnicliffe went out on loan to Championship side Peterborough United making 26 appearances for Posh before returning to Old Trafford.

However he made his Red Devils debut against Newcastle United in the Capital One Cup earlier this season back in September when he came on as a substitute and since then he has not been allowed to go out on loan after becoming part of the first-team squad.

It is thought now though that Sir Alex Ferguson is considering whether to allow Tunnicliffe, who has already been honoured at England Under 16 and Under 17 level to gain some more first-team experience on loan rather than have him available for United's run-in to the end of their Premier League season.

Sounds like he might be worth a punt although if true we face some strong competition! Definitely an area we need to strengthen

Just the right sort of age for us to look at, with SD's time with the U-21s. Could be one of those "loan with a view to permanent signing" style things?

Any young player at United will be good enough technically. The only doubt will be around mental capacity and toughness. If I remember correctly this lad had a bit of trouble shortly after the game in September that TMP mentions. Hopefully that has all been sorted out - everyone deserves another chance.

I see the Development Squad just won 4-1 at Everton. ANyone know who the trialist was in our line-up announced pre-match on the club site?
