'If It's Football, It's Vital'

It's the Etihad for Young Guns!

Burnley will play their FA Youth Cup fourth-round tie at Manchester City`s Etihad Stadium. Terry Pashley`s youth team will play in the home of of the Premier League champions this coming Thursday night (kick-off 7pm).

The fixture had to be switched to the Etihad because the original venue at Stockport County`s Edgeley Park was considered unfit due to a spate of games on the pitch. Hyde United's ground also appeared to be out of contention.

The Clarets youth team reached the fourth round after beating the red side of Manchester in a sensational game at Old Trafford. United, ten-times winners of the Youth Cup, were shocked after losing 4-3 to the Clarets in extra-time.

Can Burnley go on to beat the blue side of Manchester? It's a tough call but what a great thrill for the lads to play in one of England's most prestigious stadiums!

This has more appeal to me than the FA Cup! Just wish I was in the area and could go :-(

Yep,listening to it now! Tall order tonight. Same team as the United one except Bradley Jackson starts

Good solid performance from Clarets. Growing in confidence and defending well. 0-0 at half-time! Playing 4-5-1. Howieson playing deeper, mopping up the danger
turfmanphil
No changes for Clarets for start of second half. Howieson still in holding midfield role and Gilchrist alone up front. City looking more lively in second half.Gate: 2570 (Several hundred Clarets)

Damn 1-0 City! Lopez

Just 10 minutes to go! Somehow have to get the ball to Gilchrist. Fresh legs coming on
turfmanphil
Damn it all over 2-0 City! Pozo-2 minutes to go! Shame! All subs on now, Howieson/Giilchrist up front now. Defending all second half, few chances for Clarets
turfmanphil
2-0 City final score. No shame in losing to an Acedemy side the calibre of City! Good effort, they gave everything
turfmanphil
Pozo reportedly cost City £2.5 million fom Real Madrid and he signed a five year deal! Sums things up relatively speaking dont it?
