Clarets 1-2 Colchester

Burnley slipped to their third consecutive home defeat this afternoon, as newly promoted Colchester took a 2-1 win away from Turf Moor.

Quite how that result came to be remains a mystery, as the Clarets put in a dominant performance, only to leave the game with nothing.

Goals from Watson and Iwelumo put Colchester into a two goal lead, before a late Andy Gray goal halved the defecit, but the visitors held on to record their second win of the season.

For Colchester's first goal, our defence was asleep. No one picked up the far player. Frank S moved to the near post cover one man, but there was a huge gap behind him. For the second, did McGreal have to tackle like that. All he had to do was guide the player towards the corner flag area. We must do better. Get a couple of wins under our belt, build confidence back up!
