Stewart a Claret?-Yep Confirmed!

Burnley have secured the signing of Hull City winger Cameron Stewart on an initial loan deal until January after new Tigers gaffer Steve Bruce sanctioned his move away from the KC Stadium. The highly rated 21 year old has been attracting interest from a number of clubs but Burnley have won the battle to sign him after agreeing terms. He will wear shirt number 19!

The former Manchester United wide-man who can also play as an out-and-out striker made over 50 appearances for the Tigers. Stewart signed for Hull City on a permanent basis in January 2011 after an earlier loan spell. The fee was believed to be in the region of around £300,000.

Cameron on in Stewart and bring some confidence to our wings.

Hummm... Daz Bentley said he will confirm when this has happened ... he has not done that yet ... We really need some height in this squad hope the next in has some vertical presence

.Is he not good enough for the Hull team then? Why is he going out on loan? If he is not good enough for Hull is he good enough for us?
Grimsby Claret
Wonder if he is like Pato and Ings? Or Wallace and Treacle? Or Stan? Can't wait for tomorrow!

Grimsby your bang on the money !

I take the point about him not being good enough for Hull, is he for Burnley - but he gave Trip a tough time at the KC last season and beat him for pace a couple of times. I believe he is a player with real pace and could be just what we need.

Why do we need so many ferkin wingers for gawds sake?Wallace, Stanislas, Treacy, Stewart, Porter and that lad Dane Richards arriving in January!!?

Agree tmp, if you play 2 out and out wingers your midfield 2 have to be very good or you have to play 4 5 1. Given that say Pato is a 100% fit or Ings you have to rely on McCann and Marney to work wonders and sadly its not good enough for a top 6 as there are too many managers in this Division who are tactically light years ahead of our teams players and tactics.

Contrasting statements when asked about a possible permanent deal for Stewart. Asked if there was any option in his loan for Burnley to make the move permanent in January, Hull gaffer, Steve Bruce said: "Not at the moment, no. I just think Cameron needed to play and I couldn't guarantee him that here." Meanwhile asked if his loan move to Burnley could eventually become permanent, Stewart said: "I spoke to the gaffer here, and if I really enjoy it here and he enjoys having me then it could be.I spoke to Steve Bruce and he said come here for six months and then we`ll review it in January.I`ve still got almost two years with Hull so we`ll wait and see what January brings." Tend to agree VR I just think this club has got so many things tactically wrong from the Board down since our promotion/relegation and that we are now simply reaping the cost of those mistakes and in particular the general lack of ambition. There is no reason whatsoever why we couldn't be a West Brom by now given the financial balls.
