'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Dad Deacey says son Jordan on way to Turf Moor!

Bradford Park Avenue manager John Deacey has confirmed that his son, Jordan who currently plays for the newly promoted Blue Square Bet Conference North club is likely to sign for Championship outfit Burnley. It is understood Eddie Howe has been chasing the 18 year old for some time with his father now saying that the Clarets have first option on signing him.

There is however a chance that Doncaster Rovers could also be in the frame to sign the midfielder.

Doncaster played Bradford Park Avenue in a pre-season friendly last week which led to their gaffer, Dean Saunders enquiring about the player.

Deacey told the local Telegraph and Argus:

'Dean asked about Jordan after the game.

'I told him he could speak to the lad or offer him a trial but that he was probably going to Burnley.

'I'm not surprised he asked because I thought Jordan was awesome in the game. He outshone their lad in central midfield - and he was their club captain!

'There were a couple of clubs watching Jordan last season, and he has been here and there playing and training over the summer, but I think he will be going to Burnley.

'They are the club who have first call and it looks like he will be there. But one way or another, it looks like he will be going and that will be a big loss to Park Avenue.

'He has done really well for us but we are a club who will help players move to play at a higher level. We won't stand in anybody's way.'

He will cost us little money so if he does not make the standard very little lost but could be star of the future, so win win situation for BFC.

Another interesting signing if it comes off. Some of these new signing and youngsters from our development squad could spring a few pleasant surprises in the coming season. I certainly hope so or the Board will be castigated for their tight fistedness and rightly so.

The sad thing is though most of this talent if they make it will be mopped up by the Prem league clubs as soon as they show any sign of being great players! Ces't la vie! The best way of preventing that would be to become a Premier League club, at least then we could hold onto them for longer and consolidate in the top flight

Agreed TMP, although lots of fans and possibly some of the more promising players would be happy if the club showed some more ambition.
