It`s that Bury Gigg Again!

Burnley will be hoping to consolidate and continue their winning ways in the second of their pre-season friendlies following a convincing 4-1 away win against Blue Square Bet North club, Altrincham at Moss Lane on Saturday.

The opposition will be more of a test this time with League One Bury playing the Clarets at Gigg Lane. This will be the third summer running we have played the Shakers on home soil and Burnley will be looking for a third straight victory and maybe even a third 3-0 win! Although it might be a somewhat biased commentary, Clarets fans might be interested to know that the game this Tuesday night (Kick-Off 7:45pm) will be covered by 'Shakers Player` via the Bury Official Site.

Eddie Howe will no doubt still be experimenting at this stage and could even repeat the strategy at Altrincham on Saturday and play a completely different team in each half.

Marvin Bartley will remain out of contention. He is currently resting trying to recover from a niggling ankle injury. David Edgar too might miss out again. His gruelling international schedule with Canada has meant he has started pre-season training later than the other lads and could be behind the pace.

Young Cameron Howieson of course will also miss out bearing in mind he is currently preparing with New Zealand for the Olympic Games which open this Friday. It remains to be seen if Brian Jensen gets a chance to shine in this one after sitting out the Altrincham game. Lee Grant played in the first half at Moss Lane with third-string keeper, Jon Stewart taking over in the second.

Two more players from the Development squad who signed professional deals in the summer are on international duty for Northern Ireland in the Elite Section of the Northern Ireland Milk Cup. Shay McCartan who scored in their 5-3 defeat against Chile on Saturday will be hoping he can help his side secure victory in their next game against Mexico on Monday night. Luke Conlan will also be hoping to feature.

This will be another chance for Clarets fans to see how well our four new signings are progressing and it remains to be seen if we can had a fifth one before the match kicks off!

There are six trialists also for Burnley, we don't have the names so far. the game has kicked-off.

I would be interested to know how the front 6 have lined up - we seme to have 4 wide players - an attacking 4-3-3?

Reading twitter that appears to be right - Marney holding behind Mac and Wallace, Junior and Porter either side of Charlie

Half an hour gone, nothing much between the sides...Schumacher with the best chance for Bury who sent it over the crossbar.

Both playing 4:4:3 I think Dale

Half-time: pretty dire first-half don't think we had a shot on goal, expect wholesale changes for the second-half. Bury 0-0 Burnley.

Second-half for Burnley: Grant, Edgar, Lafferty Hewitt, Ings, Paterson, Long, Shackell, McCann, O'Neill, Treacy. No change for Bury.

Attendance: 1982....just over 1100 Burnley supporters...still Bury 0-0 Burnley.

GOAL!!! we get the breakthrough Danny Ings with the goal with some good work from Treacy...Bury 0-1 Burnley.

Full-time: Bury 0-1 Burnley...got there in the end!!!

Sounded like Treacy had a good game and Howe has been complimentary about him in training ie getting his head down! Let's hope so, we have yet to see his full potential methinks!
