Rumour Mill-Okuonghae Ok for Clarets, Magnus?

Colchester United centre back, Magnus Okuonghae is out of contract and is currently considering his options.

The Nigerian nicknamed 'The Beast' by the U's fans because of his 6ft 3' stature is understood to have caught the eye of a number of Championship clubs, including Burnley. This is not the first time that Burnley have been linked with the player.

The former Dagenham & Redbridge defender though has also been offered a new contract at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

"We have been contacted by a few clubs and Magnus will be considering his options over the coming weeks,' his agent Leon Callendar of Straight Ace Management told Sky Sports.

You would have thought that Okuonghae would prefer to try his hand in a league higher than League 1 but we shall have to see how things develop.

The clubs that have specifically been linked are pretty numerous.

In addition to the Clarets, in the Championship, Blackburn, Bolton, Charlton, Derby, Millwall and newly promoted Sheffield Wednesday are all reported to be keen. SPL club, Celtic too this month were linked with a move for the 26 year old.

In July 2009, Okuonghae left Dagenham & Redbridge and signed a two-year contract with League One team Colchester United and has since played over 100 games for the U's. Okuonghae in addition to Dagenham and Colchester has also played previously for Rushden & Diamonds, Aldershot Town, St Albans City and Crawley Town whilst also spending spells out on loan to Bishop's Stortford and Weymouth during his career.

Could we have two Beasts at the club? Sounds like Jensen has still not decided whether to accept his new offer though

Smacks of scatter-gun lazy paper talk, but we will wait and see!

If he aint good enough for Colchester ...................
hollinsclaret
Probably need to read the piece more carefully. He is good enough for Colchester and has been offered a new contract. Whether that means he's good enough for us is a different matter. In Eddie we trust!

Sounds unlikely to me. Not made it by 26 does not sound like EH material. Only plus, a freebie will appeal to the Board.

I tend to agree cornwall, at 22 he is developing but at 26 he is not going to be Lescott or Cahill esq. In EH we trust.
