It was another hectic week for the Clarets last week! Our first summer signing arrived in the shape of defender Luke O`Neill and we continued to be linked with Derby`s Jason Shackell and Leeds midfielder, Adam Clayton. (See separate articles on Vital Burnley front-page).It was announced also that Eddie Howe was hoping to get all his new signings in place before the lads returned from their summer break for pre-season training on the 6th July.
We found out what our new away kit would look like (see bottom of srticle) and were told that a third, second away strip would be available.
The PUMA Power navy blue shirt, incorporating the new sponsor Premier Range Kitchen Appliances, features a lighter blue stripe across the chest in the classic club colour.
A key feature of the new shirt is a tonal crest and blue Puma logo, in keeping with the theme.
The V-neck collar and sleeves of both the short and long-sleeved versions carry this light blue trim.
The blue shorts continue this theme, with light blue panels on both sides.
The kit is completed by blue socks, with a light blue band.
This full kit will be available in-store early July, but can now be pre-ordered at Claretsstore.com.
Full 2012/13 kit prices are:
Adult: long sleeve £42.99, short sleeve £39.99
Junior: long sleeve £33.99, short sleeve £31.99
Adult £15.99, junior £12.99,
Adult £9.99, junior £8.99, child £7.99
Baby kit: £29.99
It would appear though that both our home and away kit could still clash with some clubs strips on our travels so it has been announced that a third kit will be made available based on white shirts.
"For info, there will be a white, third kit, yet to be unveiled, that will be on a limited release in July," the Club tweeted,
"The white one will be worn on odd occasions."
No further details are yet available
In further news, new joint chairman, Mike Garlick deliberated on his plans for the club in partnership with John B (see separate article to be published) and a new deal was offered to Clarets fans who had yet not purchased a season ticket. Meanwhile another pre-season friendly was announced as part of our South West Tour. As widely expected we will face League 2, Cheltenham Town at Whaddon Road with the fixture to be played on Saturday 4th August (3pm Kick-Off).
With the fixtures for the 2012-13 season to be announced this Monday at 9am and Vital Burnley now the club`s new preferred fanzine for the season we will bring you all the Clarets Championship fixtures in full as soon as they are announced. We already know one fixture though and that is our first game to be played in the new Capital One Cup competition. Capital One? Aye don`t get excited this is simply the League Cup with Capital One, the new sponsors replacing Carling!
Anyway in the first round, we will be on our travels to Vale Park after it was announced we would be playing Micky Adams` Port Vale side. The first-round clash will be played in the week commencing August 13, though the Football League will consider requests to play on the previous Saturday or Sunday so we await final confirmation of the date. Burnley last visited Vale Park in April 1995, when they lost 1-0. The clubs last met in the FA Cup third round at Turf Moor in January 2011, when the Clarets won 4-2 thanks to goals from Clarke Carlisle, Tyrone Mears and Graham Alexander.
So what was the new deal offered to current season ticket holders and those fans still considering whether to become one? Well Vital Burnley received the following details from the club as a press release this week and we publish this in full below:
Burnley Football Club is delighted to announce that for a limited two-week period, commencing Monday, June 18, tickets for the 2012/2013 season are back on sale at a special price - offering games from just £15!
We've knocked up to £50 off the standard price of an adult season ticket, with discounts also available in all other price brackets.
A season ticket guarantees your seat for the visits of relegated Lancashire rivals Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers, in addition to the big Turf Moor games against Blackpool and Leeds United - and includes priority for all high profile away matches, plus home and away cup games.
As an added incentive, all new and existing season ticket holders will this year receive 1,000 bonus loyalty points, increasing your chances of getting a ticket for the BIG away games.
Also, with a new pricing structure introduced this season, we guarantee all season ticket holders will qualify for an exclusive renewal price in future seasons.
And finally, season ticket holders can also redeem a voucher for 15% off the new home or away shirt, with a further 10% discount on ALL other purchases from the Clarets Store - and a discount for matchday hospitality.
And you can still purchase season tickets on three months interest free credit (call the ticket office on 0871 221 1914 for details. £10 admin charge applies).
Season tickets can be purchased online or in person free of charge, or by telephone from Ticketzone on 0871 221 1914 (option 1), for a nominal charge (pre transaction, not per ticket).
This is our Turf… be there!
Matchday prices for the 2012/13 npower Championship season at Turf Moor have also been confirmed.
There will be three categories of games, Gold, Silver and Bronze, which will be announced in due course.
The Gold category will include at least four high-profile matches, while Silver and Bronze offer a sliding scale of pricing based on a number of other determining factors.
ADULT admission prices for the three categories are as follows (concessions and junior prices to follow).
