Rumour Mill-McCann Swan Laking?

Rumour Mill-McCann Swan Laking?

Swansea are being linked with a move for Clarets captain Chris McCann and could be about to offer £2 million for the midfielder's services. Swans boss Brendan Rodgers is understood to be keen to bring in the 24 year old to help the Welsh side survive a second season in the top flight following their promotion last summer.

Burnley have only just taken up the second year option on his contract. McCann sidelined with consistent injury problems before this season was given a new one year contract with the second year option last summer with hopes that the injury problems were now a thing of the past!

His performance this season has been to be honest distinctly average with many fearing the burden of responsibility of being captain has affected his play. Many Clarets fans may now even believe losing McCann would not be too hard to swallow. But what do you think? Let is know below this article!

Surprisingly maybe, but if McCann goes, I don't think I will be too concerned like I would have been in past! Sometimes its time to move on, providing we use the money towards bringing in another good competent midfielder! Duff captain?

£2million judging by last seasons performance seems a good deal but part of me thinks if he wasn't captain next season his performance would greatly increase. Don't think we have to sell him if we are going to be selling Rodders so depends on what Eddie thinks really.

I am of the view that there's a good chance he'll play better next year. So I would be sorry to see him go. But if he's not the captain of our future in Eddie's eyes, and who can say about that, it might be tough for him to play under someone else's leadership in a claret shirt. £2m would seem a fair price, but I wouldn't jump at it. If it's a real offer, let them stew a bit. But is it real? Part of me wonders whether the whole thing is a wind up either by our released scout, now at Swansea, having a little dig back, saying 'look at me now'... or by a journalist putting 1 and 1 together and word processing it into £2m.

I hope you are right CP - Jayrod and McCann both going would seem potentially damaging to the core of our squad, despite McCann's average season.
