The Seven Deadly Sinners Out of Contract?

The Seven Deadly Sinners Out of Contract?

Eddie Howe has to make some decisions soon with seven of his players out of contract in the summer!

In fact it is pretty clear already what the future holds in store for some of them with annoucements having already been made and you can bet your bottom dollar the decisions have already been made on the others.

We look at the seven and the likely scenario:

First of all we have two goalkeepers out of contract this summer, Brian Jensen has already been offered a new deal although the details have not been released. He is understood to be pondering the offer.

Third-string keeper, Jon Stewart too will be out of contract. He has yet to make his debut for the Clarets and was loaned out to Alfreton at the end of last season, However it is thought the club could yet take up a one-year option in his current contract.

One player who certainly has a future with the club at least for twelve months is Michael Duff. It was announced last month that he had accapeted a new one year deal.

Next up is Brian Easton and we know his fate too! He will not be offered new terms and will be leaving the club. It is understood he has had a recent trial with Leeds.

Another defender who looks certain to be leaving is affable, Cameroon international, Andre Amougou. Eddie Howe has made it plain that Amougou would be best placed seeking a new club. He has not really featured in Howe's plans for some time and indeed was sent out on loan to Bristol City last season after failing to command a regular starting eleven place. The problem with Amougou appears to be his lack of concentration, something which has cost the Clarets dear this season in the games in which he featured. He is also a large wage-earner, so getting him off the books is of course attractive to a club back pleading poverty again!

Clarke Carlisle is also still officially on the books until his contract terminates this summer.Carlisle though will have already come to terms about leaving Turf Moor. His last appearance for the Clarets came over a year ago and since that time he has been loaned out to both Preston North End and Northampton Town. The gaffer at Northampton and Carlisle's former boss at Watford, Aidy Boothroyd has already announced he would be keen to sign him on a permanent deal.

So that leaves striker, Alex MacDonald. He looked on the verge of breaking through into the first team this season but in the end finished up going out on loan again, this time to League 2 strugglers, Plymouth Argyle. It was a very successful loan spell for the Scottish Under 21 international though and he helped them survive the drop scoring four crucial goals. Eddie Howe is known to be an admirer of MacDonald and the Scot's success down in Devon will not have gone unnoticed.Macca who is nearing the end of the one-year deal he penned last summer, has it is believed been offered new terms.

Clarke & Andre leaving the club will certainly help with the wages. I wouldnt have wanted Duffo to go, but wouldnt be overly upset to see any of the others leave in terms of first team football.

Totally disagree with the paragraph on Bikey, I think tmp's average mark of over 14/20 and my average of over 13/20 does not make him anywhere near as bad as Edgar. It is very easy to get a broad brush to paint with and Bikey may have made mistakes but hells bells how quickly we dismiss all the others in favour of the whipping boy.....

I am really sorry about Andre. I have long been a fan of him and have no doubt about his talent and his ability to motivate a winning mentality. Whether it is a character defect or an inability by either him or EH to work together I do not know. I shall miss him and remember his good days with affection and hope things work out for him with another club.
