Rumour Mill-Wily over Willo?

Rumour Mill-Wily over Willo?

Sky Sports are stating that they understand Burnley are considering a loan move for Sheffield United 29 year old midfielder Lee Williamson.

The Derby-born player started his professional career with Mansfield Town in 1999 before joining Northampton Town early into the 2004-05 season. A move to Rotherham United followed in the summer of 2005.

He made his name though at Watford who he joined along with team mate Will Hoskins for a combined fee of £1.2 million in January 2007. During his time on the Hornets books he also had a loan spell at Preston playing a handful of games for the Lilywhites towards the end of the 2008-09 season.

Williamson arrived at Bramall Lane from Watford in the summer of 2009 for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around £500,000,.

He has notched up 35 appearances in all competitions for the League One promotion hopefuls this season and has bagged eight goals

Do we need to be bothering with loans at this stage of the season with our chances of reaching the play-offs pretty slim now? Give the young guns a chance and blood them instead unless Howe thinks Willo could be a permanent possibility in the summer.

There are two other Blades midfielders I'd rather have.

That has got to be the way now TMP. Loans becoming permanent in the summer and playing our young hopefulls. Everything now must be geared to next season, Eddie did not have much time when he started, now he must take advantage of the time before the start of next season.
