Third-string Burnley goalkeeper Jon Stewart has joined Blue Square Bet Premier outfit Alfreton on loan until the end of the season.
The former Bournemouth stopper signed for the Clarets last summer but has yet to make his first team debut for the club. He was a fixture on the bench during the time Jensen was out injured for four months with a groin strain earlier in the season but has not appeared since.
The 22 year old keeper has joined Alfreton in the hope of some first-team football and could make his debut in the home clash against Telford. The Derbyshire club are currently embroiled in a relegation fight and Stewart will be hoping to make an impact during his stay at the Impact Arena!
There was also some further recent loan news for a couple of our players. Kevin Long has had his loan spell at Rochdale extended until the end of April.
The 21 year old Irish defender will now therefore remain at Spotland for the maximum 93 days permitted and will be available to play in all Rochdale's remaining games apart from their last fixture.
Meanwhile although there is still no confirmation from either club, Alex MacDonald looks set to extend his stay at Plymouth
The striker initially joined the Pilgrims on loan for 33 days at the end of January. That loan could now be extended to the maximum 93 days which would mean he could play in all of their remaining games apart from the last game of the season at home to Cheltenham.
The 21-year-old Scot got off to a blistering start scoring three goals in three games since joining Argyle on transfer deadline day .
But his deal at the club runs out after the 6 March clash at AFC Wimbledon in League Two.
'I'm delighted (with the loan being extended).
'I've come down and played pretty much every game and I'm enjoying my time down here. I'm not sure how long the loan is going to be for yet, but I think it might take me until the end of the season.
'Plymouth is a good club which shouldn't be where it is but it is there and I'm going to try to be a part of getting the club back where it should be.'
Plymouth Argyle manager Carl Fletcher talking about a potential loan deal told BBC Radio Devon last week:
'We're looking into it, hopefully we can get that done,
'I've already spoken to Ed [Burnley manager Eddie Howe] and Macca and we're looking and hopefully we can get things sorted.
'I don't think it'll be this week, more likely next week because of the paperwork,' he added
