Lafferty Opens NI Account

Burnley striker Kyle Lafferty scored his first international goal tonight, as Northern Ireland recorded their away first win in 26 months.

Lawrie Sanchez's side won 2-1 against Finland in Helsinki with a good header following fellow Claret Steve Jones' cross, scoring the decisive goal in the victory, after David Healy had scored on his 50th appearance for Norn Iron.

Sanchez said: ''It's nice for Kyle because we haven't got many big lads, so it's nice to have one young lad in the pipeline.

'Don't put to much pressure on his shoulders at the moment, but if he plays like he did tonight he will have a career at international level.'

Lafferty is a great player in the making . He is still very young but has big potentials to improve and prove that he is extremely brilliant both at local and international levels .
