Birmingham Change A Clarets Fixture Yet Again!

The Clarets Championship game at home to Birmingham City, originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 6 has been postponed.

This is due to Birmingham City`s FA Cup replay with Chelsea taking place on the same evening.

The home match has now been rescheduled for Tuesday April 3, KO 7.45pm

Birmingham's exploits in the various cup competitions this season have been the bane of Burnley fans and the club's preparations with now both the away and home fixture having been postponed and dates rearranged.

The away fixture back in August had to be arranged due to Birmingham's Europa Cup progress.

Burnley wil now have to wait until early April before they can try and plot revenge for the 2-1 defeat at St Andrews back in November.

Oh well at least this one was already on a Tuesday so we won't be losing a Saturday fixture. Hate Saturdays without a game!

This is BS!! I ordered a trip to UK specially with that game in mind.. Watford, B.ham and Palace.. This pis*es off and gives a even better reason to dislike those blue ********s!
nor-claret
Pardon my language. But After having planned this trip ever since the fixtures came out, this is something that messes up a lot of planning...

I can understand your frustration. You might like to make a complaint via the club's media manager, Darren Bentley. You might get some sort of compensation. Vaguely remember some other Norwegians getting recompense when this sort of thing happened previously, I think in this case due to TV.

Sent a compalint to the club, but I doubt that anything will happend. Well, I have to make the best out of the stay anyway.. Nagging and getting annoyed won't do any good ;/ A.Stanley are playing away too, if anyone knows of any other sports that are played out that week, I'd be glad to hear about it.

Resheduled date confirmed-Championship game v Birmingham at Turf Moor rescheduled for Tuesday April 3, KO 7.45pm

Oh dear, poor old Nor has been a very unfortunate here. Not quite the same of course but are there any other local games that he could attend if he sticks to his plans? I think TMP is right though, there was a similar situation a year or so ago though this time round it doesn't look like the club had much choice but to switch the game. However, Dazzy B seems quite a reasonable sort of bloke and it doesn't do any harm to contact him. Am I right in thinking that this new date is the Tuesday before Easter so this will mean three or four games quite close together. Not a problem if we're in a run of good form, but a ready made excuse if we're not.

Yep It always pays to complain Nor although I doubt if you had travel i.e flights etc, worth a shot though, I never used to complain about anything but now find it's the way forward in most cases whatever your complaining about, a bit sad really but folk need your custom, hope you get it sorted.

I contacted D.Bentely and as suspected there is limited (not a thing) he or the club can do as this is FA who has postponed that match due to the cup.. As RickersTwickers mentioned, I'm looking for alternative sporting events nearby. I know that A.Stanley are playing away, but it might be an option to travel to London with the U18 in the Youth FA cup, but that depends on the transport..
nor-claret
I'd write to the FA nor, I seriously would. The more who complain, the more something might eventually be done!
turfmanphil
tmp, I might even do that... Doubt that they'll listen to a fellow from the other side of the sea, but it might be worth a try.
nor-claret
Youth Team game at Fulham might be an option Nor. Not sure whether the club would be organising transport to that game so you might need to go via public transport which can be pricey. Not sure how familiar you are with London but if you need any advice on where to go etc just let me know via Vital. Be happy to help.
RickersTwickers
I feel for you Nor - but I do think it is just bad luck. As 8c8 has put, complaining does seem to work ( even when not justified). In this instance - I am not sure what more the FA could have done short of banning replays and having it all settled on 1 day - a bad move in my book as it takes away some of the glory of earning a 'pay day replay' such as Stevenage at Spurs.
Claretdale
Talking to FA won't help much.. To much money involved for them to listen to one fan, compared to the millions they'll earn. But I'll visit a friend of mine in Nottingham and at the same time attend the Forest-Doncaster-match. Could be an interesting match with to clubs batteling in the relegation-zone :)
