Barrow Get Harvey For Longer On Loan!

Midfielder, Alex-Ray Harvey with have his loan spell at Blue Square Bet Premier Conference club, Barrow extended until April 11th; the maximum permitted for a short loan.

Burnley will now be permitted to recall the player should they want to based on a standard 24-hour recall clause in the contract.

This is because the initial loan ran beyond 28 days and the new one is continuous.

Harvey has so far started 2 games and made 1 substitute appearance since joining Barrow on January 10th but has played in a more defensive role.

Barrow gaffer Dave Bayliss said recently:

'We`d love to extend Alex`s stay, he is a good player. We haven`t seen the best out of him yet though because it`s been difficult for him, we`ve had that many injuries, suspensions and changing of the side.

"Alex needs a run in the side in his natural position, as an attacking midfielder, but, because of missing players, we`ve asked him to sit more and do a similar type of role to James Owen in there."

Meanwhile young Burnley striker Joe Jackson has extended his loan spell at Holker Street until the end of the season.

He has impressed scoring two goals during a month's loan at his home town club after coming on as a substitute.

Jackson scored on his debut at Fleetwood and also got a late equaliser against Grimsby Town at home.

Wonder how many of these lads will begin to make an impression in Burnley's first team next season. It is all quite encouraging
