Vital Burnley proud to sponsor Steven Hewitt

Vital Burnley are delighted to announce that we have sponsored 18 year old midfielder, Steven Hewitt for the rest of the season and will now have a regular entry in 'Claret & You`

Steven is on the verge of breaking through into the first team and at the age of 18 has already been named on the bench for three of our Carling Cup games this season being given Shirt Number 33. He is clearly in Eddie Howe`s plans for the future and it looks like he is being fast-tracked up the ladder.

The midfielder is making a big impression at the club in only the second year of his youth scholarship. Clarets fans first got a glimpse of his first-team potential in our pre-season warm-up games ahead of the start of 2011-12.

He was formerly on the books at Stockport County and Blackburn Rovers as a youth before joining Burnley`s Centre of Excellence and then being taken on as a scholar. He has now become a regular member of the Reserves and he looks set to sign his first professional deal in the summer.

Vital Burnley agreed the sponsorship with Burnley FC during the week and co-incidentally Steven Hewitt is in the news again after helping the youth side progress to the last sixteen of the FA Youth Cup on Friday night. He scored a brace in the Clarets convincing 3-1 win against Ipswich Town youth at Turf Moor.

We are delighted to be sponsoring the player for the rest of this season and you will now be able to see our regular entry in 'Claret & You` in the 'Youth Player Sponsors 'section. It will look like this:

Promoting the site in this way will hopefully attract more users and improve our hits. This will raise more money under our 'Hit the Site, Help the Club` campaign allowing Vital Burnley to donate additional money to Clarets Trust so they can buy more shares in Burnley Football Club. We can already proudly announce we have donated £2500 so far simply thanks to our posters and readers using the site in this way. The shares give the Trust a bigger say in the running of the club and at the same time the money helps the club financially.

Many thanks to Burnley Football Club for the use of the photographs

Thanks are owed to one of our posters for this great idea, but I will leave it to him as to whether he wants to reveal his name and take the credit! ;-)

Well done Phil, lets hope that Hewitt kicks on and also that Vital gains more users as Burnley fans discover we are a fair and fun web site open to all.

Great idea. Have never seen this young lad play but those who have done have reported on Vital that he is an exciting prospect who is knocking on the door of the first team.
RickersTwickers
Great publicity for us and the money goes towards the youth set up, a win, win situation, a pat on the back and credit where credit is due.

Great stuff. News of what goes on in the background should be broadcast loud and clear to all and sundry. Many just do not know what is going on to help BFC.
cornwallclaret
Great stuff. Well done.
