Poll Result Split

Vital Burnley fans are split right down the middle concerning the decision to pull the club out of the reserve leagues for the coming season.

50% voted either way, meaning that the decision is contested as much as supported, as Burnley followed an example set by Crewe, by removing their reserve team from the league, as an attempt to preserve the youngsters.

Players from the youth sides last season were playing for the reserve sides as well, meaning that their schedules were twice what they should be, and the club feared its young stars would suffer from such a workload.

Crewe is a good example of where the decision has prospered, with their famed youth academy producing players such as Seth Johnson and Dean Ashton among others coming through in recent years.

Burnley have had success with Kyle Lafferty and Chris McCann in the last season, and fans will be eager to see more youth players come through into the first team in the next couple of seasons.
