'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Jones Speaks on Dazzling Debut

Clarets striker Steve Jones stole the show against QPR on Saturday, with a performance that more than endeared him to his new supporters, and delighted the man himself.

The former Crewe man scored two second half goals, the second a stunning 25-yard strike to sew up a game in which Steve Cotterill's side impressed.

Jones told the official Clarets site: 'I'm delighted, in front of the home faithful as well so it's really good to get off to a winning start and it was a great team performance.'

'QPR were very hard to breakdown, it was tough and we just had to keep applying ourselves second half and dig in and luckily for us we got the break.

'There is always nervousness about the whole team at the start of a new season, but we knew that we had to get off to a good start, as there are a lot of difficult teams in this league. '

Jones will be looking to impress again when the Clarets visit Leicester City on Tuesday. We have the points and considerations of our Vital Leicester friends HERE . You feel elated when you find a new player in such blooming form . A brace put Burnley on top of the table . Burnley will repeat such performances and will dazzle all .

This man was on fire against QPR, and we need to play him in the centre and not on the wing!
