Austin Healey Quicker Than Thoughty?

Clarets fans were devastated on Saturday after our leading goal-scorer, Charlie Austin fell heavily in the home game against Leeds United and dislocated his shoulder for the third time in 14 months.

He had to be given oxygen and was clearly in a lot of pain and distress before being stretchered off with just 30 minutes played.

At least this time it was confirmed by Jason Tindall that the shoulder went back in on its accord after 15-20 minutes of the dislocation whereas previously it had to be pushed back.

X-ray scans after the game also confirmed there were no fractures to his left shoulder and after seeing a specialist on Monday there was more encouraging news for the former Swindon striker.

Manager Eddie Howe confirmed:

"Charlie has seen a specialist and it appears to be good news; certainly as good as we could have hoped for.

"He will have a further scan at the end of the week and we`ll know more then, but we`re hopeful to have him back in action much sooner than we feared."

All Clarets fans will be waiting with bated breath to find out the results of the scan on Friday.

Everybody at Vital Burnley wishes Charlie well hoping he has a speedy recovery and will soon be back in action.

Good luck, Charlie! Having brought Sam Vokes in on loan on Friday, Eddie Howe may have to dip into the loan market again before it finally closes on Thursday according to Jason Tindall Tindall said: “We might move again, Sam came in to give us an extra body, and then we lose Charlie, so we’re still where we were before Sam came in." Any chance of picking up a defender or two as well, please?

A bit of good news at last. Let's hope the scan confirms that it isn't as bad as originally thought.
