Clarets International-Edgar and Macca

After today's game away to Bristol City, the Clarets will not be in action for another two weeks with yet another International break, the third so far this season on the horizon.

Most of the team will hopefully enjoy the rest and come back refreshed although our performances after the last two breaks have not excatly been encouraging!

Some of our players though could still be in action during the break having been called up to represent their country.

We have already reported that Leon Cort, currently on loan to Charlton Athletic has been called up by Guyana for their CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying games and now we have news of two more players who will be on international duty.

David Edgar has been called-up to the Canada squad for their back-to-back CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying games against St Kitts & Nevis on Friday 11th November and Tuesday 15th November. Edgar has 5 caps so far and will be hoping to add to that tally.

The Canucks hoping to reach the World Cup Finals in Brazil in 2014 need just one point from the next two games to top the group and qualify for the third round stage.

Alex MacDonald will be hoping to earn his 6th cap for the Scotland Under 21s after being called-up for their crucial European Under 21 Championship qualifying game against Holland in Nijmegen on Monday 14th November.Billy Stark's men are currently 2nd in Group 10 still unbeaten so far just four points behind the Dutch who have maximum points from their three games.

Edgar gone that leaves Eddie with Trippier, Mee, Duff and Easton to coach for two weeks and mould into the defensive unit that will keep clean sheets....oh yes and Eddie has Amougou to manage and fine for two weeks too. Pink pigs flying over Gawthorpe.......nurse

Edgar played on Friday helping Canada secure qualification to the next stage following a 0-0 draw away to St Kitts & Nevis. He could also play in the return fixture in Canada on Tuesday night before flying home in time for Leeds clash
