Rumour Mill- Keep Your Aaron It`s Sinclair!

Eddie Howe is understood to be monitoring the progress of Partick Thistle full-back, Aaron Sinclair. Reports in the Scottish media suggest the 20 year old defender is becoming hot property and could be the target of a number of clubs both North and South of the border in the January window, including the Clarets. The lad was being watched by Burnley last Saturday in Partick`s game against Falkirk. Howe though will face competition from Rangers, Hearts and a number of Championship clubs for his signature.

Sinclair started his professional career with Montrose in 2008 and joined Scottish First Division club, Partick Thistle in July 2011, after signing a two year contract for an undisclosed fee.

Sounds like a typical Howe signing, young prospect and unproven at Championship level. Sorry but we need EXPERIENCE and the money released to pay for it

At least we are starting to look at the right areas for a change?

Sinclair's always do well or at least they did back in the 80's but there was always a duffer like the one with 3 wheels and flat battery that left you stranded.

The Big Frank model did OK, 8c8, and had certainly had several prior upmarket users. But I don't think it had any kind of trade-in value after it's MOT ran out; and it overheated in a pile-up in the tunnel after a couple of years.
Couch Potato
I used to like the Big Frank model CP, as you say had a decent pedigree - perhaps considered a useable Classic until the wheels fell off! If this lad is any good then the mention of others in the frame suggests we will be lucky to bag him, but the wage cap shouldn't be an issue at this level (or is it?).

Break the bank, get to Newcastle and bring Alan Smith into midfield, give him the Captains arm band and step back. Reports say he is up for a loan?

I am desperate to see additions to defence and midfield, we have such a small squad that untried Sinclair (I have a good feeling about this one) would please me and agree with VR we need to invest "loads a money" and Alan Smith could be the one.

'Im just desperate for additions HOWE long can this circus go on? why can't we sign players ........ ??? something,s wrong very wrong

Smith and Sinclair in would be a good start. Add Shotton to that list (or one of the other centre-halves rumoured), and we wouldn't be far off at all!
whentheballmoves
Alan Smith on loan would do for me
Totally_Claret
Is Shotton still a possibility wtbm? thought he was a long gone forlone hope. But any, any experience, quality defence/midfield would be welcome, nay, essential.
cornwallclaret
You can forget Smith or any other player of a certain age....could anybody here expect the board to folk out them kinda wages....gone are the days of token players ,god forbin to put bums on seats, Ian Wright and Gazza as two examples you could go further with Sinclair and co...you ain't going to see them or even anybody you have ever heard of....it will all be kids if they make the grade, sold on for a profit...dissalutioned maybe but also a realist.

Tend to feel the same 8c8, this is also against the back drop of Kilby likely to retire soon, BF having his own financial worries/court case to worry about and John B..what exactly does JB do again? There appears to be no mesages at all coming out from the Board, where are they?

Don't agree TMP or 8 - he's building and not spending serious money. When/if he spends big we will need to sell and I think he's avoiding that option. Previous sales were pretty much a clearance of a failing squad (I know they started exceptionally well) and up to now I've been impressed with how he's kept the damage to a minimum. Having said that we need that bit of experience (at the back?) and he must know that. As for messages from the board - maybe they cause transfer fee inflation.
AndyHo
Dont agree wwith some of that Andy, that 'failing' squad last season finished 8th ..8TH!!! We were then told we only needed 2-3 players to go the extra mile, that was before this totally unambitious board dismantled the squad and hoodwinked the fans into believing we were now in transition and all would be well! Well it has to be, before FIFA Fair Play and EPPP kicks-in to further decimate our chances of reaching the top flight
turfmanphil
Looking at it this morning I'd say maybe. Even then try as I may I can't believe (even with a couple of big signings) that it was ever going to improve with the players that have now departed (some to noblot). They were OK but mostly stopped short of the inspired stuff that they sometimes showed in 2009/2010.
AndyHo
I think the poll recently supported the belief that last season's squad would have had a greater chance of promotion than this season's squad in 2011-12. I think that is still the case, especially if the older, more experienced squad of last season had been supplemented with 2-3 high-quality more youthful players in key areas. It is just so crucial really to go for promotion this season in my opinion and I just don't think this is the time for transitions and re-building. We shall see though, Blackpool was very encouraging. We just need consistency now
