Rumour Mill-Burnley Squad To Get More Junior?

Eddie Howe could be about to raid West Ham again after signing striker, Zavon Hines only last week. This time their reported target is 21 year old winger and central striker, Junior Stanislas. Stanislas is another product of West Ham`s youth team having joined them at the age of ten. He had been playing youth and regular reserve team football for West Ham before joining League One side Southend United for six weeks on loan in 2008. Stanislas scored a brace on his league debut including a spectacular free kick, against Luton Town in the FA Cup second round on 29 November 2008

He went on to made his first team and Premier league debut for West Ham in March 2009 having since played over 40 games for the Hammers. Stanislas signed a new long-term four-and-a-half year`s contract in April 2009 committing him to the club until the summer of 2013. The London born winger is also half-St Lucian but has instead decided to play for England at international level and to date has picked up caps at England U19, U20 and U21 level.

The reports suggest that Burnley are prepared to sign the player on a permanent deal rather than consider a loan option and Eddie Howe`s thinking could be to use the player more as a central striker than a winger although Stanislas is recognised more for the former. Howe had hinted he might go into the loan market to find a new striker after losing both Pato and new signing Danny Ings to long-term injury but perhaps he has decided to pursue this option instead.

I actually think that Howe is going to use the loan-market.. Austin, J-Rod, Hines, Ings, MacDonald and Flethcer - thats six, 6, strikers - do we honestly need another? Seriously? I know we have to Man.City-players on loan allready, but I don't see the point of becoming a mini-Man.City with half of the squad beeing attackers :)

Good Player phil he can play on the wing or as an out and out Striker. Good holding midfielder now & Shotton, Bikey to go no offence to andre but, think his time is up at burnley fc.

Makes sense to me this signing. We need another winger in my view just for more options. But we also need cover at Striker with Pato and Ings injured so this lad is like to signings in one. Come on Eddie get him signed.

I don't see the priority for a winger, midfield and defence are my areas of most concern.

Just saw this on BBCwww... Sounds familiar? Nasri's move to City would be the second major departure from Emirates Stadium this summer, following Cesc Fabregas's transfer to Barcelona. When asked why Arsenal had left it so late to sell both players, Wenger replied: "What you forget is that it doesn't depend only on us. We wanted to sort all these cases out very early after the summer but it wasn't possible - the pace is not only dictated by us unfortunately." That said, my priority now is to walk the dog.

Does certainly look a good prospect but I agree with VR, except that I would put it, defence and midfield.

Could be a good signing and sounds a good player according to the WHU forums and there fans would not be happy if they sell this player.

Agree Cornwall, I wish Agourou or Bikey would just either play or bugger off. If his head is in the clouds then let him float away however if there is hope then play him, and accept his African mentality. In Portuguese football this mentality is not a problem as it is understood by all, but not looking at Pendle!!!! Nurse I seem to have a rapid broadband at last!!!

No more cast-off West ham strikers, defence, defence, defence, Stanislas and Hines have scored 6 goals in in 64 appearances combined for the Hammers, no wonder they want rid!!! potential is no good when we need proven players in now, rant over.

THIS GUY IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, I will be impressed if we lad him, this has to be a loan deal, no way West Ham would let him go otherwise

Like I keep saying. We don't need anything other than a couple of defenders! Strikers are not, and haven't been for some time, the top priority.

To attract good players you need good players at the club, this signing will show any player looking in that we mean buissness I want this to happen then get Shotton in next. Wonder what Ipswich are paying Jimmy Bullard?

Now don't know how true this is but I was told this lad was in the stands on Tuesday night. So after the performance we put in and the lack of support he's probably hot footed back to London.
