Rumour Mill-Burnley Squad To Get More Junior?
Eddie Howe could be about to raid West Ham again after signing striker, Zavon Hines only last week. This time their reported target is 21 year old winger and central striker, Junior Stanislas. Stanislas is another product of West Ham`s youth team having joined them at the age of ten. He had been playing youth and regular reserve team football for West Ham before joining League One side Southend United for six weeks on loan in 2008. Stanislas scored a brace on his league debut including a spectacular free kick, against Luton Town in the FA Cup second round on 29 November 2008
He went on to made his first team and Premier league debut for West Ham in March 2009 having since played over 40 games for the Hammers. Stanislas signed a new long-term four-and-a-half year`s contract in April 2009 committing him to the club until the summer of 2013. The London born winger is also half-St Lucian but has instead decided to play for England at international level and to date has picked up caps at England U19, U20 and U21 level.
The reports suggest that Burnley are prepared to sign the player on a permanent deal rather than consider a loan option and Eddie Howe`s thinking could be to use the player more as a central striker than a winger although Stanislas is recognised more for the former. Howe had hinted he might go into the loan market to find a new striker after losing both Pato and new signing Danny Ings to long-term injury but perhaps he has decided to pursue this option instead.
