Wes Fletcher Signs On Loan For Accy!

20 year old, striker Wes Fletcher has signed on loan for Accrington Stanley until January.

He is being allowed out on loan in order to gain competitive match experience which is seen to be vital for his development

Wes could make his Accy debut in tomorrow's home match against Bradford.

Some Clarets fans might find it strange that we bring in a 19 year old striker, Danny Ings on a permanent deal on the same day we release a 20 year old out on loan especially with such a depleted squad at the moment but at least we will be able to recall Fletcher should there be an emergency in the striker department.

Interesting one, wonder what Fletcher is thinking about Ings at the moment! Could we be playing a 19 year old in the Championship when one of our development squad who has been with the club some time is hived off to a League 2 club?

I would say at the moment the pecking order is Jay Rod, Austin, Pato (if fit), Ings, MacDonald and Fletcher! Doesn't fill me with much confidence! :-(

And maybe Hines that would be a variety? Don't think having Jay Rod up front on his own away is the answer.

It's a bit odd I know Ings has played a bit more 1st team games than Wes but we are short of forwards. I can't help but think there maybe another couple of strikers coming our way.

Typically scores on his Accy debut in their 1-0 home win over Bradford on Tuesday night! By all accounts man of the match too!!

Its two leagues below where we would like him to be, but great to hear he scored the first of many he will get for Accy.

Comparing Danny with Wes at the moment, Danny has scored League one goals, and Wes hasn't. Regular games at the Accies will do Wes more good than a handful of reserve games for us.
