Ings Almost In!

Ings Almost In!

19 year old striker, Danny Ings looks set to be joining Burnley from Bournemouth after the two clubs today agreed an undisclosed fee. Reports suggest a £1 million fee could be involved.

Ings will travel to Burnley on Monday to discuss personal terms and if the deal is finalised he will become Eddie Howe's third permanent signing of the summer.

Howe of course is familiar with Ings having been his boss at Dean Court and indeed he nurtured the player seeing him come through the Cherries youth system.

Ings impressed during a loan spell at local non-league club, Dorchester Town before making his league debut for the Cherries at Milton Keynes Dons in December 2010.

He finally established himself at Dean Court last season scoring 8 goals in 28 appearances.

The striker is also quite versatile and can also play a midfield role if required.

Very, very good point GC!! It is crucial we go for it this season before the FIFA Fair play kicks-in and the parachute payments start to reduce and eventually dry up! Don't think some of the 'happy clappers' appreciate the predicament we could be in come end 2011-12

Huge potential, technically good, with pace. Needs to play off another striker to get the best from him. Eddie summary of him is spot on. As a Cherries supporter, sorry to see him leave, but given our Owner - he's well out of it!

TMP, I thought that Tweet you read to me about Danny off your phone when we were on the train after the match yesterday was funnily sad, even poetic. And, yes, cynical, like you said. Shame you can't put it up here! My thoughts at the time were that we really didn't need a 19-year-old striker. This morning I read Eddie's comments on the official site about the overall situation, and thought they were spot on. I hope for other glaring gaps in our squad to be filled soon, and decided to give Eddie my continued support. Let's hope personal terms can be agreed and Danny turns out to be a winner.

He's over-rated at the mo but has pottential. It took him a while to bag his first goal but when he did he showed some dazzling skill and started to score goals more often. The problem is he misses to many chances and he's incredibly weak. Never the less he's fast, poaches the ball well but can be quite reckless and hes got a decent header. That's the best summary I can give you and hope he does well for you.
