'If It's Football, It's Vital'

We are still off to the Palace!

The Football League have confirmed that all their weekend matches in London will go ahead as scheduled despite recent civil unrest in the capital. This good news mean our game at Selhurst Park on Saturday is still on and will kick-off as planned at 3pm.

A Football League statement said:

'Following on-going discussions with the Metropolitan Police, statutory authorities and Clubs in London, The Football League can confirm that all League games in the capital will go ahead as scheduled this weekend.

'The Football League has worked closely with the authorities and London-based clubs throughout the recent civil unrest to ensure matches are staged in accordance with supporter safety.

'Acting on current information from the authorities there is no reason to believe matches outside of London will be affected at this time."

This was totally the right decision and sends out the right message to the thugs, morons and scum involved in the rioting and looting this week. Well done the FL and thanks for not causing upheaval to all those football fans looking forward to their weekly Saturday game of football, some of whom who had of course already bought tickets and made travel arrangements before this week's disturbances on the streets.

Yehaw see you on Sat CP and anybody else going who would like to meet up in the Flora Sandes pub (Wetherspoons) Thornton Heath for a pre-match drinky poo!!

The FL announcement is, of course, couched in language that doesn't quite say 'as long as nothing else kicks off in the meantime' but presumably means it. Assuming the police do now have control of things, I am very pleased the game will be on.

After a six pint lunch I will give the pre-match drinks a miss...but will certainly be at the game.
