Official-Treacy a Claret!

Winger, Keith Treacy has today completed his move from Preston to Burnley after finalising personal terms today and undergoing a medical on Monday.

The Republic of Ireland international has agreed a three-year-deal for an undisclosed fee.

It is thought a fee of between £750,000 and £800,000 though could be involved although some of that will go to Blackburn Rovers due to a sell-on clause.

Intresting question which Clarets have also played for both Preston AND Blackburn as well and who was the last to do so?

I don't know the answers by the way!!

The 22 year old will wear the Number 26 shirt!

Aloof sort of character, but this is a good signing make no mistake, whether he's as good as Eagles time will tell, now onto them strikers !!

Barry Fry is such a gob S**te just imaging leaking this to the press how will Ross Wallice be feeling right now .............".But Posh are in no mood to sell their talisman and turned down a player plus cash deal, which was said to involve Clarets wide man Ross Wallace going the other way. Thats settled then, but whats this about the sky news report wallice to Peterborough in a player +cash deal is there any truth in that ?
grimsby claret
Good signing a bit late for Saturday but still might get to see him as a sub. As for Fry this bloke is a complete arse wipe and would not deal with him again, hollins i would have thought Wallice would have been told what the plans were regarding his future, saying that i would of like to have seen Boyd here.
Fedupclaret
Sorry Wallace.

Vital Ipswich editor here. I think you've got a gem in this lad - we were being linked with him earlier in the summer and I can't for the life of me figure out why we never put an offer in for him. With Treacy and Charlie Austin I fear we might be seeing what we could have had at Portman Road!
Darren C
But Darren, you got Jay E-T and we wanted him! Some Clarets also wanted Paul Jewell. But not me, I would add.
Couch Potato
Welcome aboard Treacy, let's see what he can do.

A fee around £750,000 and £800,000 seems to be good business for us if this guy is as good all the time as he was against us last year. I wonder what we were offering before Eagles went? Wonder who is first choice wideman now with Wade, Wallace and Treacy? One more high quality striker please!!!
YorkshireClaret
I do hope that there's no truth in what Barry Fry aid that we'd offered Wallace + cash in exchange for Boyd. Although the club have rubbished it, it seems a strange thing for someone to make up. I thought Wallace was a waste of space for most of last season but it seems he has had the bit between his teeth a bit more pre season and it would be good to see him come good. I'm sure he's got to be better than what we've seen so far.

I have a sneaking feeling this could be wallace's year tbh, with the added pressure of buying another winger and judging his performances from pre-season he could turn out to be a big hit. I think he was preston's top scorer 2 seasons in a row from midfield before he came to us.
YorkshireClaret
I thought I saw him coming inside a bit like Eagles did for a while on Saturday. I wonder if we could see a front 6 of Treacy, McCann, Marney, Wade, Wallace and JayRod ? I still remember Coyle playing Pato out wide and it working. We have options and any more additions would be great.
VinRogue
What did anyone make of Keith's T-shirt, as on the official site story?
Couch Potato
Lol Couch ! weird cos I was looking at it as well, I think its a Tesco one £2.99 lol
hollinsclaret
Good point Couch - whatever happened to players wearing a suit and tie and having normal haircuts ? I remember Trevor Francis doing an interview on telly not long after he had signed for Forest. Brian Clough interjected and told him off for having his hands in his pockets!
RickersTwickers
Had our gaffer been born before then, RT?
Couch Potato
Ah yes, I'd forgotten that Eddie is a 'Young Man'.
