Rumour Mill-Who, When, Weiss and Wagstaff?

Rumour Mill-Who, When, Weiss and Wagstaff?

Twitterworld is in in full swing at the moment fuelling speculation that Eddie Howe has made a £500,000 bid for Charlton's Scott Wagstaff with rumours also that he may have made a bid for Manchester City's Vladimir Weiss.

Howe of course has yet to make his first permanent signing of the summer with so far only Ben Men joining on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

Could Howe be about to bring in yet another Citeh starlet? Vladimir Weiss is a 21 year Slovakia international winger and could be seen as the natural replacement for Chris Eagles.

In January 2010 Weiss ironically joined Bolton Wanderers on loan until the end of the season before also going out on loan last season to Rangers having signed the loan deal in August 2010 and agreeing to stay at the SPL club until the end of the 2010-11 season. However he suffered a broken foot and had to return to his parent club.

On the other hand, Scott Wagstaff (pictured above) is a 21 year old midifelder who joined Charlton Athletic in 1998 coming through their youth system. In January 2008 he was given a two-and-a-half year professional contract which was later extended. Wagstaff joined Bournemouth on a month's loan in August 2008 followed by another loan to Northwich Victoria FC for a month in November 2008.

We have to stress at the moment there is no media reports confirming the speculation just very heavy talk on Twitter that these moves could happen.

The news is going round that a signing is imminent this week for the Clarets but so far this Monday there has been no announcement

All good fun, Weiss would be a good signing, know nowt about Wagstaff though! No idea where these rumours have started but they seem to be gathering a pace just like they did with Iwelumo despite nothing in the media.

It all started when Twitter started saying Iwelumo was going to Watford and yet there was nothing in the media. On Twitter though there are loads of journalists, local and national dropping hints. A lot you can see through but sometimes they persist to the extent you begin to wonder just like Iwelumo to Watford and then it proved true. Kind of got me hooked then

Wiess would be a great signing and imo and is of more quality than eagles. If the club are looking at a cheap option then what about Jason Koumas, i think he's a free agent. Also if City are looking to lose some fringe players then Michael Johnson would be another good signing to bolster the midfield.

Wiess would be a stunning addition, and you would see me eating a few of my world ... our issue is would we have players quick enough to support him he's like lightning really positive addition .... but can it be for real ?

If this is true and he came up with these two in the short time he's had - then he already had them in mind. In which case I could be seen to be impressed.

Wagstaff is a 20 year old midfiel man (RHS) been at CAFC for ever (since he was 8) plenty of potential shown at youth level. Broke into first team in the last couple of years. Can score and is very fit and fast. On a new one year contract?

These rumours certainly raise my spirits. Sadly only to be eventually disappointed. Surely at some stage they have to come to fruition with the signing of some real talent. Being a BFC fan certainly brings an awful lot of uppers and downers without a ball being kicked in a serious match.

Weiss says on his twitter that he was en route home from their USA tour today with the squad so even if a fee had been agreed there would be some way to go on speaking with the player himself could we really see him being happy at £12k a week as soon as other clubs are alerted they would be all over him wouldn't they unless this is another loan deal? looks a long shot to me boys !!
