Rumour Mill-Who, When, Weiss and Wagstaff?

Twitterworld is in in full swing at the moment fuelling speculation that Eddie Howe has made a 500,000 bid for Charlton's Scott Wagstaff with rumours also that he may have made a bid for Manchester City's Vladimir Weiss.

Howe of course has yet to make his first permanent signing of the summer with so far only Ben Men joining on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

Could Howe be about to bring in yet another Citeh starlet? Vladimir Weiss is a 21 year Slovakia international winger and could be seen as the natural replacement for Chris Eagles.

In January 2010 Weiss ironically joined Bolton Wanderers on loan until the end of the season before also going out on loan last season to Rangers having signed the loan deal in August 2010 and agreeing to stay at the SPL club until the end of the 2010-11 season. However he suffered a broken foot and had to return to his parent club.

On the other hand, Scott Wagstaff (pictured above) is a 21 year old midifelder who joined Charlton Athletic in 1998 coming through their youth system. In January 2008 he was given a two-and-a-half year professional contract which was later extended. Wagstaff joined Bournemouth on a month's loan in August 2008 followed by another loan to Northwich Victoria FC for a month in November 2008.

We have to stress at the moment there is no media reports confirming the speculation just very heavy talk on Twitter that these moves could happen.

The news is going round that a signing is imminent this week for the Clarets but so far this Monday there has been no announcement

All good fun, Weiss would be a good signing, know nowt about Wagstaff though! No idea where these rumours have started but they seem to be gathering a pace just like they did with Iwelumo despite nothing in the media.
You have gone twittering mad tmp ;-)
It all started when Twitter started saying Iwelumo was going to Watford and yet there was nothing in the media. On Twitter though there are loads of journalists, local and national dropping hints. A lot you can see through but sometimes they persist to the extent you begin to wonder just like Iwelumo to Watford and then it proved true. Kind of got me hooked then
Wiess would be a great signing and imo and is of more quality than eagles. If the club are looking at a cheap option then what about Jason Koumas, i think he's a free agent. Also if City are looking to lose some fringe players then Michael Johnson would be another good signing to bolster the midfield.
Wiess would be a stunning addition, and you would see me eating a few of my world ... our issue is would we have players quick enough to support him he's like lightning really positive addition .... but can it be for real ?
If this is true and he came up with these two in the short time he's had - then he already had them in mind. In which case I could be seen to be impressed.
Wagstaff is a 20 year old midfiel man (RHS) been at CAFC for ever (since he was 8) plenty of potential shown at youth level. Broke into first team in the last couple of years. Can score and is very fit and fast. On a new one year contract?
Check he is round about goal number 6. Worth looking at. The fans seem to love him.
These rumours certainly raise my spirits. Sadly only to be eventually disappointed. Surely at some stage they have to come to fruition with the signing of some real talent. Being a BFC fan certainly brings an awful lot of uppers and downers without a ball being kicked in a serious match.
Weiss says on his twitter that he was en route home from their USA tour today with the squad so even if a fee had been agreed there would be some way to go on speaking with the player himself could we really see him being happy at 12k a week as soon as other clubs are alerted they would be all over him wouldn't they unless this is another loan deal? looks a long shot to me boys !!
The Wagstaff rumours are gathering momentum. Ipswich could be in on this with a bid as well?
Yeah Wagstaff deal is looking stronger, wonder if Ipswich hijacked it yesterday hence no announcement , or more likely that they sat down yesterday with a spreadsheet and worked out who they perhaps can or carn't go for with some extra funds Traecy deal looks to have come alive again, my bet is this one WILL happen because I think it's probably faulted due to cash earlier, if Eddie has more budget you would think he would complete this move
Strange isn't it !!! on a normal day you might think that all these names being linked is getting a bit silly but we are currently chasing up to 5 more players thats a lot of activity it means we need to sign one every other day to be in-line for the first game of the season ? O and two matches for Eddie to prep the team for ...... In Eddie we trust !!
If the board wanted to understand how the fans feal they might want to check out the pole on the right, you certainly wouldn't have seen that 2 months ago ... 81% now think the board should go !!! TFM may be interesting to run this pole again after the signing come in and we play our first game
Finally I'm not that sure we will announce anything today having to prep for a game tonight
We dont seem to be able to sign any quality players whats the problem we have more money to spend than we have ever had at this level.
grimsby claret
Not sure Grimsby. Have done a bit of research on Wagstaff and he looks like "young and well worth a go" material. On the sites that thrive on rumours good old BFC have suddenly shot to prominence and we are linked with some interesting names. Most unusual though are one (or two) lotnob players.
My analysis of the sudden swing in the poll that Holins refers to, between 1030om on Monday and 8am on Tuesday, is in the thread on directors loans. The poll has since been taken down, perhaps because tampered with. So, it was meaningless and is best forgotten.
Couch Potato
The poll has once more been spoilt by****s, so I have changed it. I think the general conclusion has to be on a poll of about 30 folk that 60% still supported the Board over the Eagles/Mears sale whilst 40% had problems with them or doubt
By the way non of the****s were Clarets but fans so-called from other clubs causing childish mischief
If that is the case then I urge a new poll TMF was it possible to tamper with the poll? ..... can we have it up again ASAP please this is a good barometer of fans feelings in what has been an exceptionally poor pre season with regards possible afforded transfer budgets, failings on signings key signings, failings to hold key players and build upon the same
sorry ignore last post from me then please ! di*k heads !
Thanks for clarifying that tmp. We all indulge in some lively arguments on here, but keeping a sense of fair play is something that we all share in common.

Meanwhile, noting the unusually high number of visitors viewing this site as I write (84) are we under terrorist attack again? Or has there been some big story breaking...
Couch Potato
Looking at the stats in the forum, which said just now that 71 of 72 viewing at that point were 'guests' my instinct is that they might perhaps have been of the unwanted variety.

Ok twitter is without doubt the fastest way to go its just lit up like a preferable Christmas tree ... Daz Bentley confirming a new signing in the Budding ...... hold ya breath could finally be the start of things to come.... what's bloody funny is observing what is the miracle of tweeting one tweet becomes 10 becomes a thousand becomes a hundred thousand in a matter of seconds COME ON YOU CLARETS who is it ( god tell me it is a he lol)
Will probably top me sell if its Stewart the goalie lol
I suspect it will be Adam Smith the right-back from Spurs on a season long loan deal.
Not sure that we have been this popular for the odd day or two. Rather refreshing in some ways,
Keiran Trippier from Man City on a season long loan ...... well its clear we defo seem to have a relationship with City that's building nicely .... not quite a break the bank "real" signing stuff but what do we know about him ??
Swansea chairman Jenkins, and Brendan Rodgers reported to be 'furious' with all the new players they are reported to be linked with every day. They blame it on the agents touting the players, and point out that it's unfair on the fans because expectations rise only to be dashed! Wait until you hear it from Eddie.
This is a done deal welsh !
plays tonight against oldham
Anyone know anything about him? Not much you can say in 140 characters! Who was that dutchman who played for celtic for a bit with a really long name? Jan van Hennegor of Hesselink? Did it go on for longer than official twitter limits? Was Jan van Hennegor of Hesselink ever linked with Lincoln? Oh and while i'm here, well done to the Burnley Express for beating India yesterday.
