Rumour Mill-Are We Gunner Get Kyle Bartley Then?

Rumour Mill-Are We Gunner Get Kyle Bartley Then?

Burnley boss Eddie Howe wants to snap up Arsenal`s powerful young centre-half Kyle Bartley on loan for the season. Who says? None other than Alan Nixon in the Mirror!

Crystal Palace too have also been linked with the 20 year old, so if location is an issue we have already lost out to the London-based player.

He started his professional career with Bolton as a youngster before signing for Arsenal in July 2007 and becoming captain of their Reserves team,

Bartley made his professional debut for Arsenal in December 2009, in a Champions League match against Olympiacos but has yet to make his league debut for Arsenal in the Premier League.

He has had two spells out on loan to Sheffield United and also played for Rangers in the SPL last season on loan before he suffered a knee ligament injury.

Bartley has represented England at both U16 and U17 level so far and seems to be a good prospect.

He's a lotnob type originally. A mate who follows the Blades rates him and puts him in the under-achieving (bigtime) category. Trouble is he's a loan deal and if we bring him on a bit we have to pay big or watch him go elsewhere. Still it's a big season for us.

If you get a chance to hear Eddie Howe on Clarets player it's worth a listen, it emphasizes that the Eagles and Mears deal happened Friday evening, HE ALSO STATES THAT THE PLAYERS HE HAD LINED UP THIS WEEK MAY HAVE TO CHANGE IN LIGHT OF THESE EXITS almost an admission that the rebuilding of the squad needs a blank piece of paper now so much for team building lesson one blow some negativity into the mix on the last day! ( two weeks away from the start of the season) but anyway there are so many unanswered questions around the last 48 hours and it will take all week to fathom out what really happened, clearly the board and manager are NOT off the same song sheet, EH articulating on sky sports and Clarets player that they want to build around the best players Kilby Flood et al. taking less than a few hours to dismantle key elements of his squad, let's face it, it will be absolutely impossible to build replacements of this quality for £3 or £4M quid with the constraints of the wage structure we have. For me this has little to do with Coyle and Bolton and everything to do with our constraining negativity, they have gone for exactly the same reasons as Coyle did.... Burnley's inability to step up to the plate and should some character when big decisions are needed!!!! For those of you who seek to rationalise such reckless action please let me offer you some advise, DON'T BOTHER !!! If you are of the opinion that this was a good bit of business and " its better to get £3M now then nothing at all next year" then we may as well pack up and go home now, lets sell the team bank the money and end up with no wages bill.... brilliant eh!!! no I didnt think so either a pathetic £3M would be have been worth sacrificing to get a season out of these two players yes I would have rather had them playing this season and dumped the £3M than have bailed out in such a pathetic and yellow bellied way, I will be banging my drum louder for the board to change this week and I hope one or two others who have perhaps seen me as the disruptive kid in class will have been given food for though this weekend and will themselves start to question some of the decision making of this tiered and pathetic week willed board !! Time for changes my fellow clarets!.... Perhaps the good folks at WTBM could consider a re brand for this season how about "Where've the balls gone !!

Hollins, may I point out that you have told us it will take a couple of weeks to fathom everything out, and then proceeded to offer without pause some very forcefully worded conclusions, with your usual articulate persuasiveness? But, I confess that I would not find it difficult to offer some alternatives to your speculations. I will nevertheless wait for a while before doing so.

Ive seen Kyle Bartley play many times for Rangers, as most football fans in my family support Rangers, and I have been very impressed. He was absolutely exceptional against PSV Eindhoven in both legs in the Europa League, and he performed consistently in the SPL. Especially against Celtic. For me he is a proven talent, and would be a show atleist some direction if we brought him to the club. In fact I rate him so highly, that I think he would easily be our best centre back. Take my word for it, ive seen him play, and he's really something.
