Rumour Mill- Burnley linked with Emmanuel-Thomas

According to Skysports.com, Burnley are one of a number of Championship clubs to be linked with a move for striker and midfielder, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas.

It is understood his current club, Arsenal have agreed terms with a number of clubs withand that Burnley, Ipswich and Portsmouth could be leading the way for his signature.

The 20-year-old came through Arsenal's famed academy, but he has only played once for the senior side. Emmanuel-Thomas has spent most of his time away from the Emirates out on loan but has impressed during spells at Blackpool, Doncaster and Cardiff over the last three years.

Skysports understand the Gunners are now set to let him move on for around 1 million but with a large sell-on fee.

It is thought the player could make a decision about his future early next week.

Me too TMP. Lets just hope if Portsmouth do get him they will leave it with Pato. I cant believe we have entered some kind of self destruction. And the funny thing is, it could potentially become even worse.

Odds on us not getting him and Pompey getting Pato.

Why would anybody want to come to Burnley?

Are taking odds on who goes next? My money is on Bikey or Pato still because the offer will just be too good to turn down... Come on its not like we are getting parachute payments or still have money from getting promoted, we obviously just need money and not players... That must be the future of our team, having money in the bank but not players on the field. "The key thing is not to panic and the big challenge now, for us, is to identify the right players" - EH the players should already be in the team! How are we supposed to attract players when we have done nothing but sell or get rid of them?

Don't even care about this fool Emmanuel-Thomas, to my count we need 2 new defenders 2 new midfielders not another striker.

Well said YC. Strikers should not be a priority at the moment. I would be more than happy with midfielders and defenders coming in

Er... it says at the top of this piece that Jay E-T is a midfielder, and that's certainly where he featured when on loan with Cardiff in the last game of last season on the Turf. Good player. Of course we may not get him, but if someone had said would I rather have JayE-T or Eagles, I'd have said JayE-T.

He's a striker and a midfielder I believe as the article says in first line.

Regardless he is going to sign for Ipswich on Monday, Skysports have just posted it as a very strong rumour. Him on a transfer and David Stockdale on a season long loan. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_7058393,00.html
