Further Changes to Clarets 2011-12 Fixture List

Further Changes to Clarets 2011-12 Fixture List

The Clarets' have had three further changes added to their fixture list for the forthcoming npower Championship campaign.

Burnley's trip to Cardiff City has been put back a day to Sunday, March 18 (kick-off 3pm).

The game has been moved at the request of South Wales police due to Wales' Six Nations rugby fixture against France in Cardiff the previous day.

Because of the Cardiff change, the Clarets trip to face Ipswich Town has also had to be re-scheduled and will now be played on Wednesday, March 21 (kick-off 7.45pm).

The game at Portman Road had to be put back 24 hours because of the Cardiff game now being played on the previous Sunday.

In addition the Clarets' game against newly promoted Brighton at Turf Moor has been brought forward 24 hours to Friday, April 6 (kick-off 3pm).

The fixture has been moved to Good Friday at Brighton's request as the Seagulls look to reduce their travelling over the Easter holiday weekend.

The Clarets will now face two games in four days over Easter with Eddie Howe's men making the trip to Doncaster Rovers on Monday, April 9.

The changes follow the switch of Burnley's home game against Leeds United to a 12.45pm kick-off on Saturday, November 19 for live television coverage, while the Clarets' scheduled trip to Birmingham City on Tuesday, August 16 has been postponed due to the Blues' Europa Cup commitments.

No new date for the game at St Andrew's has been confirmed.

I am struggling to remember a summer when so many changes have been announced to a fixture list before the season has even kicked-off. Can anybody remember one?

I suppose the only positive side to this is that they have all been switched in good time so not too many will have made any arrangements that need to be changed. The thing that annoys most fans is when kick-off times are altered at short notice, though there is probably not much we can do about that these days.

Yep,good point RT although the short notice changes tend to be at whim of TV companies and these changes in this case (apart from Leeds) have been announced for other reasons
