The Friendly Pre-Season Takes Further Shape!

The Clarets friendly pre-season schedule continued to take shape this week following news that Premier League club, Sunderland would be the visitors to Turf Moor on Saturday 30th July(3pm Kick-Off)

The game against Steve Bruce`s side will be the only home friendly during the summer.

Burnley last played Sunderland at Turf Moor in September 2009 during our one season brief sojourn in the Premier League. The Clarets enjoyed a 3-1 victory that day with David Nugent scoring a brace and Graham Alexander putting away one of his penalties in typical fashion.

The Clarets will be returning to pre-season training on June 30 before preparing for the five July friendlies announced so far as follows:

Altrincham (a), July 9, kick-off 3pm

Bury (a), July 12, kick-off 7.45pm

Bristol Rovers (a) July 19, kick-off 7.45pm

Oldham Athletic (a) July 26, kick-off 7.45pm

Sunderland (h) July 30, kick-off 3pm.

The Championship season kick-off was announced for 6 August 2011 one week later.

The 2011-12 fixtures for the Championship will be released on 17 June 2011.

Not much of a rest fot the lads then. And not a lot of time for EH to get his new look team together.
