Vital Burnley Sponsors Clarets Trust Beer Festival

Well our last game of the season against Cardiff City at Turf Moor on Saturday 7th May might now be an anti-climax after our play-offs hopes went up in smoke following defeat against Leeds at Elland Road but at least all the real ale fans amongst us can cheer themselves up over the weekend at the Clarets Trust Burnley Beer Festival.

The Trust`s 5th Beer Festival will be held at Moorhouse`s Brewery, Accrington Road, Burnley from Friday 6th May to Sunday 8th May and you can find full details about the event by visiting the Clarets Trust website. Click the link below:

Trust Website

There is a special section on the website devoted to the Beer Festival telling you more about the event, the venue and how to get there, the beers on offer with alcohol strength (ABV) and tasting notes plus information about all the Trust's sponsors.

One of the sponsors we are pleased to announce will be Vital Burnley.

Vital Burnley has sponsored both the programme for the event and a barrel of beer, so you will see the site advertised at the event.

In addition our Vital Burnley Message board posters have also sponsored a barrel of beer so why not come along and taste our chosen beers?

The Vital Burnley site has sponsored Beartown Brewery`s Ginger Bear which is very apt since your Editor is a loveable ginger teddy bear! (Cough! Splutter!)

The tasting notes for this beer states the flavours from the malt and hops blend with the added bite from the root ginger to produce superbly quenching blonde ale. Just my cup of tea..I mean ale! Pretty strong too at 4.0% ABV!

You may also know that I was born and bred in Waterfoot, Rossendale so I was delighted to learn that our posters were also sponsoring a beer from the Rossendale Brewery called Glen Top Bitter. There used to be an old brewery just past my Mum`s house in Waterfoot called the Glen Top Brewery so that all seems fitting! This beer also has an ABV of 4.0% and is described as a citrusy, full-bodied, pale beer, not over-hopped with quite a dry aftertaste. Yummy!!

Hope to see some of you there for a jar or twenty! (Hic!)

Nice one, TMP! When The Ball Moves... is also sponsoring a beer: Brown Cow (Bradfield Brewery, Sheffield) and I am REALLY looking forward to the event. I am also very curious to see Moorhouse's brand new visitors' centre - BEFORE it has even officially opened!!!

Going to meet up with CP this afternoon and call for an hour, that's if there is any ale left ;-)
