Rumour Mill-A Dicker Ticker & A Hewitt To Woo?

The Clarets are reported to be interested in 24-year-old former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international midfielder, Gary Dicker (pictured above)

Dicker currently plays for Brighton & Hove Albion. He began his career at League of Ireland side UCD and whilst their had a loan spell with Birmingham before signing for Stockport County in May 2007 for just £40,000! In March 2009 he joined the Seagulls on a season-long loan before moving permanently in June 2009 on a free transfer after signing a two-year deal.

He been in impressive form for Albion so far this season with Gus Poyet's men riding high in League One and heading up the table.

Dicker though is out of contract in the summer and unless he sorts out a new deal at the Withdean, he will be available on a free transfer.

Nottingham Forest have also been linked.

Another player who could be on Burnley's radar is non-league Harrow Borough starlet Troy Hewitt. The 20 year old striker has scored over twenty goals so far this season but has never played League football. His previous club was Ilford.

A number of clubs seem to be interested in signing him as well as the Clarets including QPR, Crystal Palace,Charlton, Wycombe and Swindon. It looks like QPR though are clear favourites to sign him.

Neil Warnock has confirmed his is pursuing Hewitt after he impressed during a training spell at Loftus Road.

'We have already talked with QPR and will continue talks next week,' said Hewitt's agent Tony Finnigan.

'Troy has performed wonderfully for Harrow this season, who have shown again there is no better place for talent to progress.'

It is looking like an interesting summer with ins and outs, who can guess the squad for next season, promotion or not my guess is some big changes with the likes of Dicker coming in, young with potential.
