Just the Ticket-West Ham in FA Cup Fifth Round

The Clarets face a trip to London on Monday 21st February when they will play West Ham in the fifth round of the FA Cup. The match at the Boleyn Ground, Upton Park will kick-off at 8pm following the announcement that ESPN have decided to cover the match live.

Clarets fans may have been hoping for a weekend fixture in order to go to this match but now some may have to be content with hunting down a pub or a friend's or family home that actually subscribes to the ESPN channel.

For those still able to go to this match, here are the ticket details.

Tickets will go on general sale on Tuesday 8th February and will be priced as follows:

Season Ticket Holders

Adults: 15

Senior Citizens: 15

Juvenile: 5

Non-Season Ticket Holders

Adults: 17

Senior Citizens: 17

Juvenile: 5

There are also six tickets available for wheelchair/helpers at 5/pair.

The tickets can be ordered via postal application or at the ticket office counter.

Season Ticket holders will only be able to get the discount if they show their season ticket books over the counter or provide their Clarets Number in postal applications.

Tickets will also be on sale for Foundation members at discounted prices by phoning 01282 700023 only.

So TMP, the folks at ESPN and the FA will not be on your Christmas Card list next year, I'm getting from today's comments alone

ESPN have a contract with FA to show Monday night cup matches. So why does that make them tosspots to do what they have a contract for?! What is so disgraceful about having footy on TV as many days of the week as possible. I'm sure there has been previous occasions when you were pleased we were on TV so you could see a match. Yes its annoying that we have so many away matches but thats hardly ESPNs fault

Can anybody help with some information please!! I want to get two tickets for the Preston game and the Burnley web site said 'postal applications only'. I rang the ticket office to see if you had to send the money for the tickets in with the application - the ticket office didn't know as they only deal with home tickets!! She gave me a number to ring which turned out to be Exeter Football Club!!! I have had troubles with getting tickets before at Burnley and obviously nothing has improved!! Can anyone advise?

I would send a cheque in with the ticket request Ozjean - address it to Burnley Ticket Office and make cheque payable to Burnley FC. That should work? Bolton - Whilst I like watching football on Tv most nights of the week, i dont particularly think it is good for the game ( reduced attendances - esp at smaller clubs).

Quite simply BC read the comments of folk affected by this decision on this thread and elsewhere. As far as I am concerned ESPN can stick their contract up their arse! What is so difficult about arranging televised matches at sensible times so fans who would normally go can still go?

My point is that not everyone is adversely affected by the ESPN change. Whilst there are fans like tmp who will be disappointed there are others like me and my son who are delighted that we can now see the match whereas we could not afford to go to London. It is only natural that those who are adversely affected will shout louder than those who are pleased so i am adding some balance to a 3 articled OTT rant

I only hope that ESPN, should they choose to follow TMP's forceful advice re: their contract, take a few copies of it beforehand. If they don't it could make any future examintaion of the smallprint somewhat hazardous.

What do a Pelican, ESPN and the Inland Revenue all have in common ? Answer : They can all stick their bill up their arse. Yes, ok I know we're talking about contracts here, but I thought I'd throw that one in.

..and my point is BC many more will be disappointed than happy! That's before we even discuss what effect it has on the other games and our promotion chances with no home games for a month to bolster confidence

I agree re no home games. I still dont understand why Burnley v Coventry on the Saturday had to be postponed. But as for more people being unhappy, where's your evidence? I could only see about 3 people on the threads. Do a survey! Which do you prefer? At the weekend not televised as you would travel to London or on Monday on ESPN?

I think you are right TMP in that moving of the extra home game is a bit of a pain and this move will prevent some from going. However, I think ESPN coverage ( even on a Monday night) will allow more people to actually watch the game than would have before.

Out of say 14k home fans , how many would have gone to WH on the saturday 3K? Some of those maybe unhappy it's been moved but the other 11K will be pleased they can now veiw it on ESPN !

Yes but the point is our normal away following that would have gone over the weekend will now in the majority of cases be disappointed and I would be amazed if all those wanting to watch it on TV will be able to find enough places that host ESPN. There will also be less Clarets fans now at the Boleyn Ground which will be an advantage to West Ham not to mention the havoc it's caused the rest of our fixtures for this month with none at home now for a month.

I'm reminded of the guys that were coming over from Holland fights booked & paid for then the game got changed to another day at short notice so they woud miss it. As far as I'm conserned Football should be played at 3pm on a sat & tues/wed evening. If your going to change the date eg fa cup it shoud be done the weekend of the draw & leauge games all sorted by August.

We'll be there coz we are in the South but fully support TMP's comments about the h/core away fans who have been scuppered by this move, and the lads will miss the vocal support. Sods law strikes again - what TV wants TV gets.

Bolton Claret...is it really beyond the ken of ESPN to announce which matches they are showing as soon as the draw is made instead of after everyone has committed to travel plans etc. Seems to me the real fans (i.e. those who actually go to the games) suffer. In addition this knocks our fixtures all out of kilter whioch might have an adverse effect on any promotion chances. Still at least we get to watch the game on telly.

BH boot. Yes I expect it is beyond ESPN to announce it immediately when they arent the only TV company squabbling over the 4 games to televise. And i dont know why fans would have already made travel plans when it hadnt been announced what day the match would be on until ESPN said they were televising. I agree it could knock our promotion plans but thats because they unnecessarily postponed BOTH our home matches-we could have played on saturday AND monday. I go to at least 10 away matches a season as well as all home matches so not all the people who are happy to watch this one on TV are not "real" fans. The only point I have been trying to make is that there will be a lot (not necessarily the majority but a large proportion) of fans who dont share TMPs OTT vitriol on this issue. Grumble about it yes but 3 whole articles on it? One of them posted AFTER he said "rant over"!

Yes because clearly someone has corrupted it, since within less than 24 hours it had moved from 66% not happy to the opposite. It's a problem with the Poll set up that allows multiple voting from the same person using multiple IP addresses . This is not the first time I have had to do it! All very childish to spoil it in this way! I wouldn't worry about it though since the numbers voting were very low until we had an influx of spoilers. Will try again when the numpties have decided to grow up [Edited by turfmanphil]
