'If It's Football, It's Vital'

It's West Ham Away in FA Cup

We will play West Ham away in the FA Cup 5th Round.

The fifth round will take place on the weekend of the 19th and 20th February with our fixture most likely played on the Saturday

The full draw for the last sixteen was as follows:

Fulham or Tottenham v Bolton or Wigan

Man Utd v Crawley

Everton or Chelsea v Reading

Leyton Orient v Arsenal

Birmingham City v Sheff Wed

Stoke City v Brighton

Notts County or Man City v Aston Villa

West Ham v Burnley

This means our scheduled game against Coventry in the Championship at Turf Moor on Saturday 19th February will now need to be raarranged.

Bad draw - potential for TV though.
Claretdale
Just hope they are still useless come the time we play them.

At least it's a proper game with some decent opposition. We could win this one or at least bring em to Turf Moor for a replay

Unfortunatley I don't think we will make the TV, Man Utd V Crawley definatley will be, so will Leyton Orient V Arsenal and I expect the All premier league game of Fulham, Tottenham, Bolton or Wigan will get on. After that Everton or Chelsea V Reading will be the one I think. However I do think this game i very winnable, we get on a run with some good form and I can see us winning! Then one game away from Wembley!

West Ham have strengthened their squad and will be tough opposition, but if we progress so will we. Should be a good test of our abilities although we must put promotion top prority.

Good one for me. No extra expense required for travel as it is covered by my monthly travelcard and can get the tube direct from Kew Gardens. Will be a tough game but we have nothing to lose so it should be a cracking cup tie. I remember going there last year and seeing us play twenty minutes of the most swash-buckling football I have ever seen. Only problem was we were 5-0 down before we started playing.
RickersTwickers
I remember it well.
Couch Potato
Bit disapointed, but we can get a result.

A tricky tie indeed, anybody know if Robbie Keane will be cup-tied? I get married on the 18th so I doubt I would get to see it even if we were on tv, hopefully we can string some away wins before then starting on Tuesday UTC

Might be tempted to go to this. Quite like the atmosphere around the ground, not to mention the traditional Cockney fayre. Pie,peas and liquor etc although not into eels!
turfmanphil
Yeah, I'm thinking about going too. It will depend on what day it's played and what KO time. 3pm Saturday, please.

Would of preferred another home draw. Just as long as the one's in Claret and Blue don't win!!! Can't decide whether to go or not. If we win at Doncaster I will go. My reasoning is Ihaven't seen them win away so I maybe a bab omen!!

I used to think the same SheC....until I went to Barnsley. And Portsmouth so I'm on a bit of a winning streak. Mind you, I think Vin's nurse was at Oakwell so perhaps it was nothing to do with me at all. If your purse and work commitments allow then I reckon you should try and go if you can. West Ham is a proper stadium - though don't blame me if we don't win !
RickersTwickers
Damn, we will be over in the UK for the whole of Feb so I was hoping for a home draw, especially as we will now miss the Coventry game. Do you think we will be able to get tickets for the West Ham game and also Preston away?

Knees up Mother Brown have just said our game will be played on the Monday in front of TV cameras - worth 288 Grand Up the Clarets

Can someone please tell me what the hell the FA are doing. It's bad enough that TV dictate what times matches are played but to have any round of the FA Cup played on a Monday night is absolutely ridiculous. If I thought it would do any good, I would encourage Kilby to tell the FA and ESPN where they could stick their Monday night kick off. All goes to show how low the cup has sunk.
