Burnley deny approach from Everton for Eagles

Burnley have stated on the Official site that they have not received any approach from Everton for winger, Chris Eagles.

Everton according to reports in the British press had made Burnley winger Chris Eagles a transfer target to replace outgoing midfielder Steven Pienaar who has been linked with a move to both Chelsea and Tottenham

The Sun also claimed that Eagles could make the move to Goodison in a deal thought to be around £1.5million.

Hands off! £1.5 m? How derisory is that?

All clubs will ( or probably should) start with a low offer and work up from there

Jesus should be £5m we will have to give Man U some money as part of the transfer agreement when he came to us, and why do we want to get rid of CE now when we are trying to get back to the Prem.

Earlier today (Friday) Bfc said they'd had no offers for Eagles, but on this afternoon the Toffees confirmed a deal on Pienaar with an 'unnamed team' following earlier stories that their deal with Chelsea had broken down.

Good news but would be even better if accompanied by a firm statement that he is not for sale at any price, as he is seen as an essential part of our push for promotion.

Unfortunately, on past performance, I don't think it will take much more than 3 million for us to part with Eagles.

..and I'm not convinced he would get a game every week in the Premuer League at Everton. Or anywhere else. Far better to stay with us for now.

Pienaar has signed a pre-contract to go in the summer. I think Chris may stay until then and then see what league we are in.

I've heard 4M and we get Vaughan. Go for it - Vaughan has been unlucky and is a good player. How long will he stay fit though?

Agree that Eagles will be far better off to stay with us now that Eddie Howe has been appointed. If Howe plays the game the way I think he will, then Eagles will be a big part of his armoury.
