Oh for heaven's sake, I hope this isn't true on so many levels!

If it is true then stuff him ! he's nowt special, I cant understand why he was the target, absolutely clear favourite if you believe the LET and I do, they were running with this from day one. Major questions about this board for me now, never mind the manager what this whole exercise has demonstrated is the board is no where near as smart as we gave the credit for before this event, their PR has been simply awful, don't they realise the damage they are doing nationally to us, Where the hell is the communication to the press and fans its absolute car crash stuff. GET A BLOODY GRIP AND START TALKING KILBY

Maybe we should invest some of the parachute money in paying for good and experienced PR staff and back room staff to bring the club in line with others. Or perhaps some would not want us to waste money on the poor infrastructure if it meant cutting players wages and transfer cash available! Now don't get me started on that! lol

I'm some way from being convinced that the LET (or any newspaper) is as clever as they'd like us to believe. I suspect that the actions and statements of our Board have been determined by a lot of stuff that neither we nor the LET know about. I wonder whether shouting in hostile fashion on websites is hepful or damaging to the club. In the context of stated concern about potentially damaging the club's reputation, I would lean towards concluding that it was damaging.

Why should the club communicate with the supporters over over who they are looking at as our next manager ? They want to keep it quiet and I fully agree, The board have their targets and imo they have gone about it in the right way by contacting their club for permission to speak to their manager, Lets get behind the whole club and push us onwards and upwards

I cannot understand why every one believes what is written in the tabloid press when we know most of it is lies and speculation. The board obviously think that saying nothing speaks volumes.Let them get on with it and judge them by their decision.G.O.C.

T-_C Let me tell you why they should be disguising things! Firstly this is not about naming names, its about communication, it about stating you intent and demonstrating that you have the means to achieve your desire and aspirations, IT'S NOT about issuing 2 statements in 3 weeks and considering that will suffice, we live in a world of ultra fast news, anything that looks detrimental generally is, what generally happens when you get thing wrong is you spend time defending your actions rather than being positive in your approach, simple facts are these, managers and agents will now be asking why other managers are turning us down and that simply shouldn't be happing, we have a great chance of PL footie next year, we should have people breaking our door down to speak with us, now we have half the world saying well xyz didnt fancy it cos it a small club !! just not the right message. We need a positive spin both on and off the pitch !

Yes, agree with the sentiments regarding the press writing anything they like to sell papers. Again it doesn't break my heart that MacKay isn't coming any more than it did when Lambert decided to stay at Norwich. They're doing well now at their respective clubs but what guarantees did they have of transferring that to another club? Answer - none, but they've been able to use the interest to improve their pay while staying at their clubs. Let's see what develops here , but I agree with hollins that a few more statements from the club wouldn't have gone amiss. I'm not totally convinced about Gray but it looks as though he's going to be in charge for the QPR game. If he produces a good performance with the right result then I'm sure a few more people might start to wonder whether he can produce the goods, regardless of his selections. The wrong result will have completely the reverse reaction with even more clamour for a new manager, and quickly.

***************** HOWE TO STAY AT Bournemouth************ Press now reporting that Eddie Howe has agreed to stay at AFC Bournemouth, Players had training cancelled and were called to a meeting at 11am news was delivered to them at 12.30, if this is the case then I am gutted ! but again ya have to look and wonder what the 4 canal boats is going on the this Burnley Board? where is the dynamic duo of kilby and flood...... not being able to organise a party in a brewery comes to mind boys this will be Big Sam, Lambert, Mackay and now Howe who the hells felt on this list? NOTE TO THE BOARD LOOK UP THE WORD LEVERAGE ! cos that's what every one of these candidates have done with there own clubs based on the back of our "tentative enquires" now go get some balls and get stuck into some hard negotiations they generally start by getting your cheque book out , I am absolutely aligned with TFM were running out of options and this is getting really serious !!!

Board getting slated in the LET on Sky and Radio Lancashire at mo ! along with message boards everywhere............. off to the bookies me, with only one candidate left he's a sure bet 10, on McInnes I am sure Barry will wax lyrical about going the right way about the appointment, interviewing several candidates, only one shone out bla bla bloody bla, what he will actually mean is that there was only one left on the list so we offered him the job cos no one else wanted it..... and what that actually means is "we" couldn't convince anyone to want it

Im on McInnes at 20/1 and have been since Brian Laws left the club. Not saying he is my first choice but his appointment would certainly pay for a trip to Cardiff, a couple of days at the Lord's test and a few pies to boot.

Before we are further humiliated in our search for a manager lets just go to St. Johnstone and bring/ entice / kidnap /steal/hire MacInnies here to Turf Moor and do it before Saturday and QPR. It's getting to the point where any warm body will do as all the smart ones have been signed up elsewhere or the Board through ineptitude have let them slip away.

Message to the Board! :-) Please don't tell us what's going on till you have found a manager. Snippets of the big picture, which are of course all you can provide without breaking confidentialities or undermining negotiations, tend to make us over-emotional. I wonder what the average rise has been in Claret fans' blood pressure since 1 January? I'm going to look into getting away from it all in a hot-air balloon until someone says it's safe to come down...

Old Mackay seems a right miserable sod and he deserves Watford! Let's hope Eddie shows him 'Howe' to do it and we finish above the Hornets in a play-offs spot come May!!! :-)
