'If It's Football, It's Vital'

It's No Go Guidetti and He's Gone Back!

18 year old striker,John Guidetti has been recalled by Manchester City following his loan spell at Burnley so there will be no loan extension.

This is very disappointing news with Brian Laws before being sacked saying a loan extension for Guidetti was his number one priority.

Caretaker manager, Stuart Gary was keen to secure a loan extension for the promising forward but hinted there could be problems when he said earlier this week:

'There are a few little scenarios and City have a few injury problems with their forwards.'

The Sweden Under-21 international made just two starts in five appearances for the Clarets during a month-long stay.

Guidetti`s only goal came in the Clarets Boxing Day win at Barnsley which marked our first away win on the road in the Championship this season and our first at Oakwell since April 1932!

Half expected this to happen following some inside information. Disappointing but I think it's now perhaps important we hold onto the likes of Thommo unless we are going to buy a striker or two in the Jan window. Our money is best spent elsewhere on defenders and midfield IMO

Yes lets get some defenders in. Good luck to John back at City.

The current WTBM has an article by me, written in early December, called 11 for 2011. 5 days into the year for which it is making predictions, they are already toppling like ninepins. Guidedmissile was in my starting XI for PV(a) FAC3R! So, never work with animals or children, and never accept Barnsey's poisoned chalice offer to write New Year's Predictions! On a more serious note, improving our back line and midfield tackling have long been my priorities. To quote Rocky: "Get into 'em! Get into 'em!" Out with the old; in with the new!!!

Only saw Guidetti a couple of times but didn't see enough to suggest that he would get a game at City. He is only a young lad though and may improve but he looks like he might be a bit on the chunky side. Perhaps the temptation of the pies in East Lancs has been too much.

We have our own crop of youngsters who maybe merit a cameo on the bench. I am firmly of the belief I want no more outside gambles on our future. Guerrero was one and tmp loved him! Lets spend some of the cash and strengthen in Central Defence and get an experienced manager capable of making sure we survive in the PL next season, not just an experienced manager by age and games he has been in charge of.

Have to say, I could not understand the hype over Guidetti, he did very little in his cameo sub appearances and although scoring against Barnsley in his first and only full game, he looked completely match unfit for the first half! I am sure we can do better with what we have. Try Wes Fletcher even

Agree totally tmp, try Wes Fletcher on the bench if injuries etc leave us a little short on the bench.

If we want to keep a player we should buy him. Still worried about Jack Cork.

I agree it is a worry now, from all I read and know BL was one of Jacks biggest fans I just hope the board see it that way too.

Yes, Cork needs to be signed asap. Not unduly worried about Guidetti going back although you could see the potential with some of his moves, but agree that we need to give our home grown talent a shot. Also agree that we need to find a Brian O'Neil for the defence but all this will be taken up by the new gaffer once he's in place.
