Cardiff Clash Could Be Called-Off..and it Was!

Vital Cardiff report that our game against the Bluebirds at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday could be postponed. They write:

'Cardiff City's clash against Burnley tomorrow is under scrutiny after heavy snowfall hit South Wales overnight, and has continued again this morning.

With 5cm already on the ground, and further heavy precipitation forecast the club have shut the ground today, and advised fans to keep checking for updates.

With undersoil heating installed, the pitch is not a major concern. However, the walkways around the stadium are likely to see further snow and compacted ice making conditions unsafe, especially given the 20000+ crowd expected for the match.

The club have been advised to take an early decision to cancel the match, should the forecast snow arrive. Burnely fans are also being advised not to travel.'

The Official Burnley site have also now confirmed that the game could be in doubt.

Thought this might happen although earlier in week weather forecast suggested Cardiff would avoid snow! Not sure if this match if postponed helps or hinders our cause. The Bluebirds form is poor of late and it might have been a good time to play them now

Stopped snowing now and groundstaff working hard to be fair - still looking dodgy though

My mate in Llanelli still hasn't received our tickets after numerous phone calls, and has been told he's got to phone today to get his money back, with tomorrow being too late. With the snow we've had today and even worse forecast tomorrow, he's phoned for his money so I'll be well cheesed off if the match goes ahead ! A disasterous weekend so far, with the Xmas do in Carmarthen today also cancelled.

Called off according to the LT...

Confirmed called off for safety issues.

Think I am glad its called off. Was planning on going down but wasnt looking forward to potential hazardous driving when reaching Cardiff or even worse getting stuck down there if it became really heavy after arrival. Probably wont make the night game, unless its half term in which case I may have a driver :-) On a club level - Dont think its a bad thing. A defeat would have heaped more 'misery' on us and this should allow us to go into the Xmas spell fresh and hopefully on a real mission to pick up points!

More time for Eagles and Pato to recover.

Means BL keeps his job a bit longer!!!!

Not a masive surprise again. Couldn't make tomorrow's game but might now be able to make the re-arranged fixture, depending on when it is obviously !

Go to the pub and watch Sunderland and West Ham win. (Well it would be nice)

I've decided this is a bad thing, Cardiff aren't playing well and we needed another game quick after the Leeds debacle. Hope we can win at Oakwell on boxing day, especially as I'm going. Oh they did make the right decision to call it off early.

Agree skutter, down to 12th now as well, five points off play-offs! Onus is now on us to win these games or lose the advantage
