Rumour Mill-Derby want Paterson?

Nigel Clough is reported to be lining up a £1million bid for out-of-favour Clarets striker, Martin Paterson but it is understood that Burnley rate the Northern Ireland international nearer to £2 million. Clough is a former team-mate of Brian Laws, the two played together at Nottingham Forest, so they do know each other very well which could help any negotiations regarding Pato.

Owen Coyle brought Martin Paterson to Burnley from Scunthorpe United in June 2008 for £1 million plus add-ons and he played an integral part in our promotion season of 2008-9. Under Brian Laws though he has struggled to make an impression although has had a spate of injuries keeping him sidelined.

It will be interesting to see if there is any truth to this speculation published in the Daily Mail today.

Think he is worth far more than £2 million!!

Defo. More to the point, I hope this is press nonsense because we'd be off our heads to get rid of Pato.

No way, unless for 10 mill. Hope only truth is an attempt to sell a few more papers. But do we trust BL to do the right thing.

Don't think we should be talking how much Pato is worth if the story as any truth he should not be leaving the Club, and if Kilby and Laws think this is good business its time they all resigned.
Fedupclaret
