Vital Burnley Users raise 2000 for Clarets Trust

Vital Burnley is delighted to announce that we have now raised enough money under our 'Hit the Site, Help the Club` campaign for Clarets Trust to purchase 10 shares in Burnley Football Club. The 2000 donated by Vital Burnley has been raised by our readers and posters simply using the site and increasing our hits. The more money the site raises for Clarets Trust, the more Burnley FC will benefit through the Trust purchasing shares. Clarets Trust now own 110 shares in the club and Vital Burnley are proud that ten of those shares have been purchased with money raised by the site.

Phil Lea (Turfmanphil), the Vital Burnley editor is also a Clarets Trust Board member and started the 'Hit the Site, Help the Club` campaign two years ago in partnership with 'When the Ball Moves...` fanzine editor and Trust Membership Secretary, Martin Barnes. Vital Burnley also hosts the 'When the Ball Moves...` online forum.

Vital Burnley is independent of the Clarets Trust and this season was designated Burnley FC's official fanzine for the first time mainly due to its fund-raising activities for the club, This benefit allowed the site to publish the 2010-11 fixtures for a nominal fee of 1

The Editor gets paid by Vital Network Ltd every quarter depending on the number of site hits and has been able to donate about 200/quarter since starting the campaign in 2008.

Vital Burnley would like to thank all our site users who have helped raise this money simply by reading our articles and being interactive in our forums. It would be great if you could encourage all your Clarets chums to also use the site so we can raise even more money.

Great news - and well done to all those who invest their time in this site. Good to see that it will be featured ' officially' too - that has to be a positive step.
