Laws on Guidetti Loan

The Clarets have completed the loan signing of 18-year-old Manchester City striker John Guidetti who will now be at Turf Moor at least until January 3.

Brian Laws speaking about his new signing said:

'We noticed him against our reserves when we had a very strong side out..

'He did very well and scored a hat-trick against us and ran our centre-halves all over the place.

'Since then we've been keeping very close tabs on him.

'He's only a young boy but he's got a man's body and a mental strength.

'We wanted to get him on loan to get a good close look at him and see if he could bring something else to us.'

Guidetti will wear the number 20 shirt during his initial stay with the Clarets.

Interesting prospect but difficult to see him getting a place ahead of Iwelumo,Pato, Jay Rod and Thommo? Bench warmer unless of course we at long last start playing 4-4-2 when he might have a greater chance

If he's as good as Laws thinks he should get his chance

Personally I haven't seen the lad play but by all accounts he's got a promising future. Hope you guys look after our youngster.
Tudor
Hope Laws is going to play him or whats the point of getting him on loan just to sit on the bench.

Feel same as TMP is he better at 18 than our experianced strikers, has he played in the premier league like our strikers.?

Am quite positive about this. Don't expect this lad to be the finished article but if he's keen, he could be a useful temporary addition.

Youngsters have the thirst to play and by all accounts this lad is talented. Different sport, but look at North and how he's performing for the Welsh National side in Rugby Union. He's only 18 but has been a breath of fresh air for the side. Guidetti could well do the same for us , we'll see.

Sounds like he might feature against Derby, Eagles struggling with a back injury and hasn't trained all week plus Pato still doubtful.Laws quote: 'With the opposition not knowing much about him,John could well get a shot'
