Rumour Mill-Bradley Johnson on Loan?

Leeds' transfer-listed midfielder Bradley Johnson is reported to be a target for Brian Laws along with Sheffield United.

The 23-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has also attracted interest from Bolton (Oh No!!)and Stoke.

Brian Laws only yesterday told the club's official website:

"We have been given the opportunity to look at a good young player on loan.

"He is someone I have had my eye on for some time and this would allow us to have a really good look at him in the short term with a long-term view."

It is however rumoured that this deal does not refer to Johnson but to 18 year old, Manchester City striker,John Guidetti.

If we are interested in Johnson, it could be therefore that the intention is to bid for the player in the January window rather than bring him in on loan as a first stage.

Johnson started his youth career with Arsenal but was released at the age of 15. He joined Cambridge United in 2004 and progressed through the youth team to the first team before signing for Northampton Town in May 2005. During his time at the Sixfields Stadium he had loan spells out to Gravesend & Northfleet and Stevenage Borough.

He signed for Leeds United in a three-and-a-half-year deal for £250,000 after in January 2008. Johnson then had a loan spell at Brighton later that year.

Johnson was transfer listed after rejecting Leeds' final offer of a new three-year contract this month. A Leeds spokesman said the club would sell him in the January transfer window if they receive an acceptable offer for him. A value of about £2.5 million is believed to be Leeds rating of the player.

Well the rumours suggested it was a midfielder we were looking at to bring in on loan not the young striker from City. Today though,it looks like John Guidetti is the front runner

Me thinks a classy midfielder would'nt go a miss at this moment in time or big Mac coming back and BL giving him a chance.

Sorry guys but "A Classy Midfielder" Johnson certainly aint. He is at best a slightly above average League one midfielder who tries hard. I can assure you, there will be no laying of wreaths at Elland Road, when he departs. But at least he tries hard....

Ouch, sounds like the Blades..or BOLTON :-) can have him!!
