Rumour Mill-Leon Cort for Preston?

Rumour Mill-Leon Cort for Preston?

It is loan deadline day today with all loans to be completed by 5pm.

Some media reports suggest Burnley's central defender,Leon Cort will be joining Preston North End.

Cort has struggled to establish himself in the Clarets back four this season. Central defenders, Andre Bikey, Clarke Carlisle, Michael Duff and even to some extent David Edgar appear to be ahead of him in the pecking order.

A loan spell could be of benefit to him rather than continuing to be a bench warmer for the Clarets.

The Daily Mail certainly seem to think a loan move is on the cards.

Don't think Cort is going to be a Burnley player for much longer to be honest. We have enough cover in back four and he has not really shone in defence [Edited by turfmanphil]

Lancashire Telegraph understands that the Clarets have agreed in principle to allow Cort to move to fellow Championship club Preston until the turn of the year.
