Bikey Could Miss Blades Clash

Brian Laws could face a problem in the centre of defence against Sheffield United this Saturday following news that Andre Bikey is still suffering some soreness from his rib injury.

He was substituted early on in our last game before the International break against Millwall at the Den and at first it was feared he may have broken a rib but following a scan it turned out to be bad bruising.

Bikey travelled out to the Cameroon for their African Nations qualifying match against DR Congo recently but did not play in the game and only trained with his fellow internationals.

It had been hoped he would be fit to play for the Clarets on his return but that now looks doubtful.

Clarke Carlisle is also sidelined for this game following his red-card against Millwall so Laws will probably have to start both Michael Duff and Leon Cort in the centre of defence against the Blades. Both defenders played in a midweek reserve match and will be chomping at the bit for a start this Saturday after coming on from the bench against Millwall in our last game.

You need to get your feelings back under control TMP!!!

Have to say it was a concern to be too TMP. Have to say I havent been a fan of Leon from day 1. I cant see it happening based on previous squads, but I would start Edgar and Duff with Leon on the bench. The performance from those pair at Old Trafford was superb and I would argue one of the best central defensive performances of the entire season.

Hope Bikey is fit to play do not fancy Cort or Edgar myself.
Grimsby Claret
Agree about Cort at the moment and would prefer Edgar in the centre, it is afterall the position we brought him in for! Edgar though could be out on loan soon. It should be Cort out on loan in my opinion
