Bikey Won't Get Ribbed In The Break

There is some good news for Andre Bikey, Cameroon and Burnley FC today.

Bikey was injured in the first few minutes of the game at 'The Den' on Saturday against Millwall. He went down holding his ribs and after treatment carried on for a few minutes more before having to be substituted. The fear was he may have broken a rib and he was taken to a hospital in London last night for checks.

Scans though revealed he had no breaks and was simply suffering from bad bruising.

Bikey will now be able to join up with his Cameroon team mates in the International break in preparation for their African Cup of Nations qualifier to be played on home soil against DR Congo on Saturday 9th October.

The news also means he will be fit and ready to play in our next game against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday 16th October.

Good news indeed, I just hope he comes back okay.

Excellent - it would be nice if Cameroon didnt play him and just let him rest :-)
Claretdale
Long way to go for a rest though...unless he gets the suntan cream out! ;-)

A little holiday will do Andre no harm, As long as he brings his brain back fully focused :-). A good start to the season Mr Bikey - Keep it coming on your return!
Claretdale
Have to say before he got injured he was veering towards Clown-tendency again like Hull,so let's hope he comes back fully focussed and ready to earn some more MoM awards!

Good news indeed.

Good to hear the news on BA bit strange to let him go on international duty but he'll get a bit of sun on his back.

Pleased he is OK.

If Carlisle loses appeal who do you think should partner Bikey in Shef U game? Duff or Cort?
turfmanphil
Its Duff for me Phil, He started the season in our first choice pairing and think Carlisle may have a job replacing him if Duff is allowed to step back in.
Claretdale
Could depend on what happens to Grezza, Carlisle is also vice-captain so Laws might not want to have two captains out of the team? Agree Duff will get preference over Cort though

Every player has a bummer now and then, Bikey has done more than enough so far to be entitled to one, but I hope he resumes to normal service after the int break. We should win this appeal if there are down to earth , sensible people on the panel but what if it's full of the 'blazer brigade' ? Anyway, it's Duff for me as well.

Interesting point the TMP - How important is it to have a 'leader' on the field? If Wade is to be given the armband - is he the man for the job?
