Clarets International-Iwelumo & Cork Called-Up

With the International break just around the corner, it was recently announced that both Andre Bikey (Cameroon) and David Edgar (Canada) had received international call-ups and we can now add two more Clarets to that list:

Chris Iwelumo

Scotland have two Euro 2012 qualifying matches during the International break. They face the Czech Republic in Prague on Friday, 8th October before taking on European and World champions Spain at Hampden Park on Tuesday, 12th October.

One Clarets player who could feature in these games is in-form striker, Chris Iwelumo. Scotland boss, Craig Levein has recalled Iwelumo to the 24 man squad having no doubt been futher impressed with the 32 year old's goal tally so far this season. He has scored 7 goals now in ten matches for the Clarets including a recent hat-trick at home against Preston. He then followed that up with a brace against Hull City at Turf Moor in midweek.

Iwelumo had been named in Scotland's squad for the earlier Euro 2014 qualifiers played during the September international break. against Lithuania away and against Liechtenstein at Hampden Park but had to withdraw due to a hamstring problem.

Jack Cork

Stuart Pearce's England Under 21 team face two crucial games against Romania during the international break and they need to win this two-leg play-off if they are to qualify for the Under 21 European Championships to be held in Denmark next summer. They play the first leg at Carrow Road on Friday 8th October before travelling to Botosani four days later for the return leg.

One player who could help them achieve victory is our on-loan Chelsea midfielder Jack Cork. He has received a call up to the squad for these games.

Let's hope they all come through the Millwall game and play for their country and if they do play for their National sides that they don't get injured! Bikey,Cork and Iwelumo are certainly all crucial to our team at the moment
